All About Christian Slater's 3 Kids (and Baby on the Way!)

Meet Christian Slater’s children.

The Unfrozen the star is the father of three children and is currently expecting a fourth with his wife Brittany Lopez.

The couple are already parents to a four-year-old daughter, who they welcomed in 2019. Slater is also father to daughter Eliana, 22, and son Jaden, 25, who he shares with ex-wife Ryan Haddon.

Over the years, Slater has been open about life as a dad, previously noting that “having kids is a phenomenal eye-opener” and even inspired him to get his GED.

Since then, Slater has tried to be a good role model for his children. “We lead, of course… by example and try to be the best example for them,” he said Parade. “I think it just helps everybody.”

In August 2024, Slater told PEOPLE that he is “a lot more present” as a dad at this stage in his life.

“I think I was more afraid of it when I went around and I was a little more confused, and I was very distracted,” he said. “And now, that’s all I really think about, and all I really care about, and all I want to be around. I’m happy to be in that situation.”

Slater had his first child, son Jaden, with his then-wife Ryan Haddon in 1999. Since then, he’s been very candid about fatherhood and what it’s taught him.

In an interview with S. in 2008 TodaySlater said “it’s best to have great adventures with your kids.” He added: “It’s the best possible cure for anything.” For example, he took Jaden to a Los Angeles Dodgers game on his birthday.

Slater threw a birthday party when he celebrated Jaden’s special day in 2010 at the Toyota Grand Prix practice day in Long Beach, California. While the actor raced down the track, his then 11-year-old son filmed the action from the stands.

Entertainment aside, Slater also prioritized his children’s education. While discussing their influence on his own academic pursuits, including earning his GED, the actor stressed the importance of learning for his children as well.

“I’ve been reading lately Nancy Drew books for my children. I do everything I can to encourage them to be little readers,” Slater said Parade 2009. “We started going through three chapters Nancy Drew every night, and they’re really into it. It’s about the idea of ​​a cliffhanger in stories, which keeps them engaged. Their enthusiasm really excited me in a way.”

While Slater’s son was photographed with him at premieres and other public events as a child, little information was made public about Jaden’s goings-on as he grew up.

Slater had her second child, daughter Eliana, with Haddon in 2001. Like her older brother Jaden, she grew up in the public eye with the actor and was photographed at premieres and events as a child.

Unlike Jaden, heathers the actor shared different updates about Eliana getting older. In June 2020, Slater spoke to PEOPLE about spending time together as a family in quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that Eliana is only “two days away from graduation.”

The proud dad said they celebrated the milestone in part with a Zoom party and t-shirts he ordered that read “Quarantine Graduate 2020.” Slater went on to praise his daughter, who was a newly minted middle child at the time following the birth of his third child.

“[Eliana] she’s really blossomed into a very beautiful, intelligent, wonderful, very sweet, lovely person,” he said of his daughter. “She’s great with the baby and she’s a really warm, special person.”

“I’m proud of her and that she’s now ready to embrace life and have some independent adventures of her own,” he added.

Slater married Brittany Lopez in 2013, and they had their first child together, a daughter, in August 2019. They have not publicly announced the name of their little one.

In June 2020, Slater told PEOPLE that he is once again enjoying all the sweet moments a newborn brings to a family, noting that “seeing my daughter start crawling” is one of his favorite things to witness.

At 9 months, Slater described his little girl as a “wonderful spirit” who had also started to stand, which he said was “very exciting to see”. He continued: “It’s really amazing. She’s smiling all the time… It really makes your life. She’s a real pleasure to be with.”

He added that some of his favorite activities with his daughter are “blow her kisses”, “throw her in the air” and “take her swimming”, as well as their morning ritual of feeding her and taking her to “a walk in BABYBJÖRN”.

“She loves books,” Slater continued of his little one, saying one of her favorite stories at the time was Hug Machine by Scott Campbell.

Slater called his daughter “a really passionate, exciting person” in an August 2024 interview with PEOPLE.

“I mean, she’s skateboarding, ice skating, rock climbing, aerobics, tennis and she’s 5. We can’t stop her,” he said. “She just has a real zest and passion for life that’s very contagious and really excites me.”

Slater and Lopez are currently expecting their second child together, which will be the actor’s fourth. The couple announced the exciting news at the premiere of his film Unfrozen April 30. While walking the red carpet at an event in Los Angeles, Lopez debuted her baby bump as she wore a floral off-the-shoulder dress.
