According to an interview with February 2023 Texas highways, his father worked as an executive coach while his mom was a stay-at-home parent. Glen Sr. and Cyndy married in 1984 and soon after started their tight-knit family with the birth of their first daughter, Lauren Powell Whatton, in 1986. They had their only son, Glen, in 1988, and a younger daughter, Leslie Powell, in 1992.

Glen is not ashamed of his love for his family and the wild antics they get up to.

Glen Sr. and Cyndy were married on November 24, 1984, according to a throwback wedding photo she shared on Instagram.

Glen gave more insight into his parents’ history when he posted a selfie with them in Washington, DC, and mentioned the details of their engagement.

“A quick trip to the base of the Jefferson Memorial…where 40 years ago my dad proposed to my mom,” he wrote in November 2023. “Happy anniversary you two. Happy to have your love in my life every day.”

They have three children

Glen Sr. and Cyndy have three children: Lauren, Glen and Leslie. Lauren was born on June 12, 1986, and she often documents her life as a mother of twins on Instagram.

Glen is the middle child, born on October 21, 1988, and Leslie is the youngest, born on June 10, 1992. According to her Instagram, she’s a singer-songwriter living in Los Angeles — and her older brother is her biggest fan.

Glenn said Austin Monthly in May 2023 that growing up in a city like Austin, Texas, taught him and his siblings to respect the arts, not judge them. When their son became interested in film, Glen Sr. and Cyndy enrolled him in acting lessons.

In the 2016 interview News from DetroitGlen revealed that he loved going to the theater and watching movies with his dad when he was a kid.

Although the actor was not alive then Top Gun premiered in theaters in 1986, his father went out of his way to show him the film at home. Little did Glen Sr. know at the time that his son would one day star in a sequel.

“I was 10 years old and I remember him handing me a VHS and saying, ‘Hey, man, we’re going to watch top gun,Glen said Access to Hollywood in 2022. “I liken it to a dad playing catch with his son for the first time. It just meant something to him.”

Glen tries to get his mom in all his movies as an extra, according to an interview with Interview magazine in 2016, Cyndy played an adult spy in the Spy Kids 3, lunch lady Everyone wants some!! and a professor at a party in Jack & Bobby.

“She loves being on set, she enjoys it, and nepotism is kind of expected at this point,” Set it up said the star. “Now she’s like, ‘Glen, what’s my role in this movie?’ ”

Glen Sr. and Cyndy are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren, Witta and Gwen, who are Lauren’s fraternal twins.

The most spoiled member of the Powell family is not a human but a capuchin monkey named Charlie. It’s named after a viral YouTube video from 2010 called “Charlie Bit My Finger” because it’s also a bit snarky.

During the appearance at the 2018 Jimmy Kimmel LiveGlen described Charlie as a “silk robe, monkey-type eye mask” and revealed that he had his own room in the family home in Austin.

“I’m more like an uncle to Charlie,” Glen said Interview magazine in 2016. “Charlie is treated better than any human. He is the most spoiled pet you can imagine.”

Glenn said Texas highways 2023 that he is a “sixth or seventh generation Texan” who grew up surrounded by a lot of love for his home state.

The actor said he spends most of his free time with his parents and siblings on the family ranch in East Texas or enjoying the nearby adventures Austin has to offer. In fact, the trips he took as a child rarely meant he had to leave state borders.

“We used to wake up really early, eat a big breakfast and go on a trip to some random city,” he recalled. “First we’d go to the cemetery and look for a cool, interesting headstone, something that seemed old and memorable.
