All About Hailey Bieber’s Sister Alaia Baldwin

Hailey Bieber may be making headlines with her date night looks, wedding fashion and skincare brand, but she’s not the only Baldwin daughter to make a mark.

Hailey’s older sister Alaia Baldwin Aronow is a model and advocate who works to raise awareness of endometriosis, a chronic health condition that affects the reproductive system. She is also busy running around her daughter Iris, who turned 3 in August 2023.

Clearly, the Baldwins are a close-knit group. Alaia attended Hailey’s wedding to Justin Bieber in 2019, returning the favor after Hailey was her maid of honor at Alaia’s wedding to producer Andrew Aronow in 2017. Hailey and Justin also shared some cute photos of themselves doting on their niece Iris.

Alaia is almost four years older than Hailey

Alaia was born on January 23, 1993, making her almost four years older than Hailey, who was born on November 22, 1996.

In honor of Hailey’s 25th birthday in 2021, Alaia posted a series of cute pictures of herself and Hailey. In the caption, she wrote: “I’m so proud to see the woman you’ve become. It’s been amazing to watch you grow into your own.”

Alaia and Hailey are the daughters of actor Stephen Baldwin and graphic designer Kennya Baldwin. The family is no stranger to show business: Stephen’s brothers are Alec Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin and Billy Baldwin, all of whom are actors. Although Kennya is not in the entertainment industry herself, her father is Grammy-winning musician Eumir Deodato.

Although their father was a famous actor, Hailey shared that she and Alaia had a normal childhood, mostly away from the spotlight. “That was always the reality,” Hailey said in an interview in 2017. “But because of the way my parents raised my sister and I, it was always separate — it was dad’s work life. When we were at home, we were just at home, hanging out.”

Alaia is married to Andrew Aronow

Alaia has been married to producer Andrew Aronow since September 2, 2017. Their relationship began while vacationing on Parrot Cay in 2014, where they were met by Christie Brinkley, according to an Instagram caption Alaia wrote in 2017. She also had some sweet words for of her new husband, writing: “Even if I didn’t want to, I could never stop falling in love with you.” Hailey also received praise, as Alaia wrote, “Thank you @haileybaldwin for showing up and slaying as my godmother.”

Their wedding took place at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in the Hudson Valley, New York. Along with godmother Hailey, Alaia included cousin Ireland Baldwin in her bridal party. The bridesmaids wore long black dresses, while Alaia wore a white strapless dress with ruffles and a floor-length veil.

On August 17, 2020, the Baldwin family received a new member: a daughter. “Welcome to the world of Iris Elle Aronow! We couldn’t be more thrilled to finally meet you,” proud papa Aronow wrote on Instagram.

Hailey also shared her excitement, writing: “It was hard to keep this to myself, my beautiful niece is here and she is PERFECT. Aunt Hails loves you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo been posted on Instagram story).

Her husband Justin also posted a cute pic of himself, Hailey and Iris in August 2023.

The family recently celebrated Iris’ 3rd birthday. Alaia shared a heartfelt post on Instagram to mark the occasion, writing, “You make me so proud to be your mom every day. The moment you arrived my life really made sense. You continue to amaze me with your empathy, love, confidence 😆, grace and depth.”

Alaia is a model

Like Hailey, Alaia is also a fashion model. She worked as a model for Philipp Plein, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. She has also appeared in Harper’s Bazaar and Grazia magazines.

She talked to Marie Claire about her approach to modeling in 2016. “One of my ambitions is to take this career and see it as art,” she said. “I think it’s a lost concept because everyone is so focused on social media and making money. At the end of the day when I get frustrated and upset, I remember how much I love getting into character and creating a fashion story.”

She is an advocate working to raise awareness about endometriosis

Alaia has spoken publicly about her experiences with endometriosis, a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pelvic pain, according to the World Health Organization.

Alaia wrote the foreword for EndoMETriosis: A Girl’s Guide, written by her doctor, Dr. Tamer Seckin. During an interview in connection with the book’s release, Alaia shared that her symptoms appeared when she was in her early twenties.

“It was a very, very fast path to very, very intense pain,” she said. “It just happened overnight, mostly.”

She also talked about wanting to support other people, especially young women, who are going through the same thing. “That was really a big motivation for me to share and be open to anyone who wants to have someone to talk to or who understands. Because it can be so isolating when you’re alone in the middle of those painful moments. You don’t have anyone who knows what it’s like,” she said.

Alaia is also an ambassador for the Endometriosis Foundation of America and frequently shares posts on her Instagram raising awareness of the condition.

She is close to her cousin Ireland Baldwin

Alaia is apparently close to her cousin Ireland Baldwin, daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Ireland has spoken about their close relationship in interviews, even crediting Alaia with saving her life during a dark period.

“(Alaia) was the one who booked the ticket from New York and came to LA to see me,” she shared on Talk about the red table 2022. “She said, ‘Something is happening. … I feel something.’ She saved my life. I think I would commit suicide or be dead for sure. I was so close. I could feel it getting to that point. And she saved my life. She got me out of it.”

When Hailey and Justin got engaged, Alaia posted a congratulatory message on Instagram alongside a photo from their 2017 wedding. “From one bride to another… congratulations to my little sister on this exciting next chapter! I love you and wish you both the best. I can’t wait to celebrate with you!”

Kim Basinger (Ireland’s mother and Alec’s ex-wife) confirmed that Alaia was in Hailey’s bridal party in an interview, saying, “Alaia and Ireland, they’re at the wedding.”
