All About Jon Bon Jovi's 22-Year-Old Son Jake Bongiovi

Jon Bon Jovi’s second-born son, Jake Bongiovi, is a Jersey boy just like his dad.

Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Bongiovi, welcomed their third child and second son, Jacob “Jake” Bongiovi, on May 7, 2002. Jake joined his older siblings Stephanie and Jesse and was the youngest in the family by two years until birth of his younger brother Romeo in 2004.

Jake and his siblings grew up largely out of the public eye — a deliberate decision by their famous father, as Bon Jovi explained The Guardian in 2021

– My life is much more normal than one could imagine – said the singer. “There are no platinum records hanging anywhere in my house. The trappings of a rock star were never part of my home… My younger kids weren’t really sure what I did for a living.”

After a childhood out of the limelight, Jake starred in the comedy 2024 Rockbottom. In the film, he played the lead singer of a 1980s hair metal band – and wore a wig very similar to his father’s former wig.

Jake’s dad is also very supportive of his high-profile relationship with British actress Millie Bobby Brown, which began in 2021. Following the couple’s wedding in May 2024, Bon Jovi appeared on the BBC The One Show and said, “Jake is as happy as can be.”

Although Jake was born in Palm Beach, Florida, he grew up a Jersey boy like his father. The family of six lived in a mansion on 15 acres along the Navesink River in Middleton, NJ

According to NJ.com, Jake attended Pennington High School where he played football. Bon Jovi even attended his son’s senior night game in November 2019.

During his sophomore year in 2018, Jake helped plan his high school’s walkout of 400 students in response to the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. The protest called for stricter gun control and a safer environment for students.

Jake told NJ.com that he engaged in activism thanks to his family. He even said that Bon Jovi’s philanthropic efforts made him want to give back.

“He (my dad) was really kind of an inspiration to me as well, but I think it was really special that the students inspired each other more,” Jake said. “Our courage springs from each other.”

He is an actor

said Bon Jovi GQ 2020 that his son plans to attend Syracuse University to study acting. According to Syracuse.com , Jake didn’t return after his freshman year — perhaps that’s because he’s already landed some high-profile acting gigs.

He made his debut in Rockbottom together with Tom Everett Scott in 2024, and according to NJ.com, Jake also starred in the comedy called sweeties with The Creepy Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka.

“Jake just brings a level of acting that not only feels authentic and real, but feels like he’s been doing this for a long time,” Rockbottom director Todd Tucker said in a promo video for the film. “And he is only (21) years old.”

He is married to Millie Bobby Brown

Rumors that Jake and Brown were dating first started in June 2021, when he posted a selfie with her on his Instagram and captioned it, “bff<3." The Stranger Things the actress made their relationship official on her Instagram a few months later.

After almost two years of dating, Brown announced their engagement on Instagram on April 11, 2023. She posted a black and white photo of herself wearing a diamond ring while hugging Jake and wrote: “I’ve loved you for three summers baby, I want them all.”

Jake and Brown eventually tied the knot in May 2024 during a “very low-key, romantic affair with immediate family.” A few months later, the couple exchanged vows again during a lavish Italian wedding.

He is an avid diver

During the appearance at 2024 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonBrown said that she and Jake bonded over diving and even got their licenses together. So it’s only fitting that he used their favorite hobby to pop the question.

The Enola Holmes the actress said that on that special day, Jake took her to their usual diving spot. After swimming many meters, he handed her the shell. “I like it, turn it around, and it’s a ring,” Brown said. “He puts the ring on my hand, and as I was going to show him, the ring falls off my finger, it falls like, so fast, it was like a movie.”

Luckily, Jake was able to dive in fast enough to grab it. “It’s a reflection of who he is,” Brown continued. “And I feel like we’re always going to have each other’s backs and if somebody drops the ball, we’re going to get it.”

He had his father’s blessing to marry

Bon Jovi supports Jake and Brown’s relationship. During the appearance at 2023 Radio Andy, the rocker shared advice for the now-married couple.

“I don’t know if age matters if you find the right partner and grow together,” he said. “That would be my advice, really. It’s wise to grow together. I think all my kids have found people they think they can grow with, and we all like each other.”

Bon Jovi spoke about the couple again during an interview with The Times UK in April 2024.

“I’ve gotten to know her over the last year, she works really hard, and she and Jake are going to grow together in their own way,” he said.

The musician continued: “It’s an accelerated version of what I went through 40 years ago and I think, with the support of the family around them, they’re going to be great together.”
