All About Kane Brown’s 2 Daughters (and Baby on the Way!)

Country star Kane Brown is about to become a father of three.

The “Heaven” singer and his wife Katelyn Jae Brown, who have been married since 2018, are the parents of two daughters: Kingsley Rose (4) and Kodi Jane (2), and in December 2023 they announced that they were expecting their third child.

“Last Christmas of 4 🎄❤️ Merry Christmas everyone!!” they wrote in the caption of a joint post on Instagram, showing a sonogram photo of their future baby.

The couple welcomed their eldest daughter, Kingsley, just days after their first wedding anniversary in October 2019. And while music and touring keep Kane busy, he said coming home to his family makes it all worth it. “Kingsley has completely changed our lives for the better. I know when I come home and I’m exhausted, just holding her makes my day completely better,” Kane told PEOPLE in March 2021.

The country music star added that he’s learned to love his role as a dad: “I’ve learned to be patient, and I’ve also learned that there’s real love. And if anyone ever got between me and my daughter, I don’t know what they’d do.”

In December 2021, Kane and Katelyn expanded their clan with the birth of their second daughter, Kodi. Talking about fatherhood with Gayle King for CBS Morningthe “One Mississippi” singer said he “always knew I was going to try to be there,” for his kids despite a career that often requires long hours and time on the road.

“I always wanted to give them the life I never had,” he explained.

Fortunately, he has the support of his “rockstar” wife, whom he credits with making it all possible.

“Two babies in the house while I’ve been on the road for the past month and I’m still holding the fort. Yours[sic] actually a great woman and I just wanted you and let everyone else know how much I appreciate you! My rock star ❤️”, he wrote in a sweet greeting on Instagram.

Six months after their wedding, Kane and Katelyn announced that they were expecting their first child together. Katelyn shared the exciting news on Instagram, sharing a video of her first ultrasound.

Kingsley Rose Brown was on October 29, 2019 in Nashville. In the run-up to his daughter’s arrival, Kane told PEOPLE that he was getting ready for “daddy’s books” to prepare for fatherhood.

At 22 months, Kingsley was already beginning to understand that her dad was famous. “Whenever I’m in the house and she looks at me on TV, and she looks at me and then looks at the TV. She says, ‘How are you here and how are you there?’ Kane told PEOPLE in August 2021.

Kane added that she is very intuitive. “She’s amazing. Maybe I’m just biased because she’s my daughter, but I think she’s the perfect baby. She can’t even talk yet, but she’s just so good at communicating,” he said of his then-almost-2-year-old. “She wants to go out, she’ll bring you her shoes and socks and she’ll say, ‘Yo, put these on. Let’s go out.’ And she can just tell you yes or no without even talking. She’s just my world.”

Shortly after the couple welcomed their second child, Koda, Kane said Kingsley transitioned seamlessly into her “big sister role,” noting that she’s constantly checking in on her little sister.

According to her father, Kingsley is slowly turning into her mother’s mini-self. In a video posted to Instagram, Kane captured his older daughter lying in the couple’s bed with a high ponytail and a pair of grown-up glasses, enjoying a plate of food and a cellphone video. “When I look at her, I see Kate,” Kane wrote on Instagram, referring to his wife. “Just need her heater and me to turn off the lights lmfao.”

Based on her “bedtime routine” with Kane, Kingsley is also definitely a daddy’s girl.

The couple’s second child, daughter Kodi Jane Brown, was born on December 30, 2021, in Nashville. Her birth came as a surprise to fans as the couple held off on going public with the news that Katelyn was pregnant with baby number two.

Kane announced the addition of their “new family member” on Instagram. “New year, new family member ❤️ welcome to the Kodi Jane family 🥰 secrets finally out,” he wrote alongside a photo of him and Katelyn cradling their newborn daughter.

After their engagement and first pregnancy went public, Kane said he and Katelyn decided to keep this pregnancy a secret. “I’m not attacking anyone, but last time I sent a picture to my older brother and he put it on social media before we announced it,” Kane said, referring to their first pregnancy on The Bobby Bones Show. “So everyone already knew about it, and it was kind of unnerving.”

He added, “So it was like, ‘We want this — to say we’re going to have a baby on our terms.’

Kane said he also had to get creative with hiding Katelyn’s growing baby bump from keen-eyed fans. When he went out in public, the country singer said he would position Kingsley’s stroller to block Katelyn’s stomach, and would pose certain ways in photos to cover her baby bump.

Before settling on the name Kodi, the couple toyed with several “K” names, including one they had originally chosen for their future son.

“Of course, we’ve been trying to come up with K. The whole time when we get Kingsley, our next baby, we’re going to name them Knight,” Kane explained during an appearance on Superstar Power Hour.

Kodi was named by a country artist at their gender reveal party. “It was me and nine other people on our back porch having a gender reveal and I was like, ‘What about Kodi?’ he remembered.

Like her older sister, Kodi got her middle name from her mother’s side. “Kingsley has Kate’s middle name and her other grandmother’s middle name,” Kane added.

Even though she’s just a kid, Kodi seems to have already developed some serious dancing skills like her father. The “One Thing Right” singer recorded a video of him and Kodi dancing to his duet with Katelyn, “Thank God.”

The sweet moment between father and daughter was shared on their family’s Instagram page in honor of Kodi’s first birthday. “Happy 1st Birthday Kodi Jane! To the youngest member of the #KBFamily! 🎊❤️,” they captioned the clip.

On Christmas Day 2023, Kane and Katelyn shared the news that they were expecting their third child in a sweet Instagram post. As the family posed for a photo in front of the Christmas tree wearing matching beige outfits, eldest daughter Kingsley held up a sonogram photo of her sibling-to-be.

In the comments, Kane revealed that this child was a “surprise” – and that this would be their last pregnancy. He wrote: “I’m not gonna lie this was a SURPRISE! Now I’m DONE. Snip snip 😂.”
