Lala Kent Ocean’s daughter is officially a big sister!

The Vanderpump Rules star welcomed her second child, a girl, on September 3, 2024, after announcing her pregnancy a few months earlier.

Lala became a mom for the first time with the birth of Ocean Kent Emmett on March 15, 2021, whom she shares with her ex-fiancé, film producer Randall Emmett. The former couple met while working at SUR, the West Hollywood restaurant and lounge that serves as the backdrop and inspiration for Vanderpump Rules. Randall and Lala split shortly after Ocean’s birth, and the reality star has been open about raising Ocean as a single mom after the breakup, both in interviews and on Instagram.

In 2022, the reality star talked about a day when she was explaining the “negative stories” about Randall to her daughter. “No matter what, I’m her mom — which means I’m going to teach her the importance of being a good person,” Lala said on her Instagram stories. “The world is not ready for the force my daughter will become,” she added.

Lala was also eager for Ocean to become a big sister. “I think Ocean is going to go crazy when another baby comes into the mix because she’s obsessed with babies and I think she’s going to be extremely hands-on,” she told PEOPLE in January 2024. Ocean also has two paternal siblings, London and Rylee.

Lala welcomed her daughter Ocean on March 15, 2021.

“This is the most beautiful moment of my life,” Lala told PEOPLE during Bridgerton– inspired maternity photography before giving birth. “The whole experience, from changing my body and creating miracles, to how I’ve changed as a person… I’ve never been this excited about anything in my life.”

After Oceana’s birth, Lala posted on Instagram that the girl reminded her of her late father. “The ocean is beautiful. She looks like you through the eyes,” Lala wrote, referring to her late dad Kent, who passed away in April 2018. “I think I’m doing a pretty good job so far. I wish you were here to see it.”

Lala chose her name before she was born

Before Lala and Randall even knew they were having a baby, they decided on the name Ocean.

“It’s different, but we think it’s perfect for a little girl,” Lala told PEOPLE in 2021 before the baby’s name was revealed. After Ocean was born, Lala said she thought about a name for a while.

“We knew we were going to name our first baby—whether it was a boy or a girl—Ocean,” Lala said Party tonight in May 2021.

“I don’t even know why this name didn’t come up sooner, but we were in the Bahamas three years ago, and I passed this yacht and it was called the Ocean Alexander, and I said, ‘Oh my God, the name Ocean, that has to be my name. babies,’ she continued.

“Randall loved it and it made perfect sense for the name to be Ocean,” she added, noting that Ocean’s dad was “obsessed with water,” just like her.

She inspired a clothing line

Shortly after welcoming Ocean, Lala was inspired to start a clothing line for children and babies.

The brand, called Give Them Lala Baby, follows the trend of naming Lala’s business ventures: a beauty brand, podcast and memoir, including the phrase “Give Them Lala.”

“This is my passion project because it was inspired by my boo boo; creating gender-neutral, comfortable basics for our little ones,” Lala wrote in an Instagram post in December 2022, showing her gratitude to those who supported her brand.

“Apparently, when I started shopping for Ocean when I was pregnant, it was very hard to find. Well thank you @givethemlalababy for showing so much love. Ocean and I are so grateful,” she continued.

She motivates Lala to stay sober

Lala celebrated five years of sobriety in October 2023, and she credits her daughter as one of the reasons why she remains sober.

“Sobriety is the best gift I’ve ever given myself, and I can’t let my daughter ever see that version of me,” Lala told PEOPLE in September 2023.

“I’m coming up on five years of sobriety and my daughter is coming up on 2½, so I’m staying sober for myself, because if you stay sober for someone else, that’s just a recipe for relapse,” she added.

However, Lala made it clear that she was motivated to stay sober so that Ocean would only know this version of her.

“To think about the fact that my child will always see me like this and never under the influence, you can’t put a price on that. I’m very grateful that I found sobriety when I did,” Lala told PEOPLE.

He has two older sisters

Ocean is Lala’s first child, but she has two older sisters through her father: London and Rylee Emmett.

London was born in February 2010 to Randall and his ex-wife, actress Ambyr Childers. They had their second daughter, Rylee, in November 2013.

Randall and Childers split in 2017, and Randall proposed to Lala a year later. Lala and Childers had a public falling out over Lala sharing photos of London and Rylee on Instagram, but Lala also spoke of her respect for the girls’ mother.

“I think she’s a great wife and a great mom. I’ll be honest — I think she’s the best thing that ever happened to the guy,” she added, referring to their mutual ex, Randall.

She is a big sister

In March 2024, Lala announced her second pregnancy after saying Cosmopolitan that she started the process of conceiving a child through intrauterine insemination (IUI).

“I’m expanding my pod,” the reality star wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Ocean looking down at his baby bump.

A month later, Lala discovered that she was expecting another girl.

“[Ocean] is so excited. My biggest thing is making sure she knows that she will never be replaced and that this is our child,” the soon-to-be mother of two told PEOPLE.

Lala announced on Instagram that her second daughter was born on September 3, 2024. “Welcome to the world my love,” she wrote over a black screen, adding the date “9.3.24” in the lower right corner. She did not reveal the name of her little girl then.

She is best friends with Scheana Shay’s daughter, Summer Moon

Lala’s co-star Scheana Shay gave birth to a daughter, Summer Moon, just a month after Ocean was born.

The best friends have gone on friendly trips with their daughters, including family trips to Disney and vacations to Las Vegas.

“Girls trips to Vegas are looking a little different these days,” Shay captioned an October 2023 Instagram post, snapping a picture of her, Lala and their daughter in the pool.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the summer of 2022, Shay’s husband Brock Davies said their daughter is “like a mini-Scheana.” “She’s absolutely the sweetest,” Shay added.

Lala also spoke about how much she appreciates Davies’ relationship with Oceana.

“The way he’s with Ocean is like, ‘Oh my God,'” Lala said in a February 2023 episode of the series. Vanderpump Rules. “I’m so grateful because my child will not experience that. I can’t give her that right now. The fact that I have Brock as my child is like the greatest blessing.”

For Ocean’s second birthday in 2023, Lala threw Monsters Inc.– theme party.

“I wouldn’t have anything if I didn’t have you! Ocean’s Monsters Inc. Birthday Party. she was everything and more,” Lala wrote in an Instagram post showing photos from the birthday party. Lala previously dressed Ocean in Monsters Inc. Sully character for the 2022 Halloween event.

Lala’s best friends and VPR Costars Shay and Davies showed their love for Ocean by dressing up as Sully at the party. They dressed their daughter Summer as Boo.

“Ocean’s 2nd birthday party was awesome! 💜” Shay captioned her series of photos from the event.

Shay and Davies were also present at Ocean’s first birthday party a year earlier, along with the others Vanderpump Rules cast members.

“The Turning Ocean is a bittersweet one,” Lala told PEOPLE at the time. “I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by, but it’s been wonderful to see these little milestones that have happened in the past year.”
