Pat Sajak’s daughter, Maggie Sajak, has grown up.
The Wheel of Fortune the presenter, who announced his retirement in June 2023, welcomed Maggie with his wife Lesly Brown in 1995. The couple also have a son together, Patrick.
Considering her father has hosted the popular game show since 1981, Maggie is no stranger Wheel of Fortune stage — she even made it Wheel of Fortune debut as a baby! Now 29, Maggie has taken on a larger role on the show, including as “the special person who touches the letters” in 2020 and serving as the show’s social media correspondent from 2021.
May 10, 2023 Maggie made it Wheel of Fortune hosting debut, replacing long-time co-host Vanna White became a contestant.
On the other side Wheel of Fortune Pat and Maggie seem to have a close relationship. In September 2022, Maggie posted a sweet tribute to her father in honor of his show’s 40th anniversary.
“Happy 40th Wheel-anniversary to this guy!” she tweeted in memory of her father hosting the show. “On this day in 1981, @patsajak hosted his first episode of @WheelofFortune… and the rest is history!”

She was born in 1995 and has an older brother

Maggie was born on January 5, 1995 to Pat and Lesly. Lesly is Pat’s second wife — the couple married in 1989 following his divorce from Sherrill Sajak in 1986.
He also has an older brother, Patrick, who was born in 1990. He stayed out of the public eye more than his sister, but his father mentioned him on TV, telling Wheel of Fortune audience in 2021 that his son graduated from medical school.
Maggie also shared the news on Instagram, describing herself as “THE PROUDEST” alongside a picture of her and Patrick.
She is a law student

According to Maggie’s Instagram bio, she is currently a law student. She previously graduated from Princeton University and completed a graduate program at Columbia University.
However, her goals were not always focused on becoming a lawyer. Speaking with Daily first row In 2013, Maggie — then a sophomore at Princeton — said she was taking a pre-med course “in case I ever want to go to medical school.”
She started playing the guitar at the age of 13

In an interview with S. in 2013 Teen VogueMaggie explained that she started playing the mini acoustic guitar at the age of 7 or 8, but got her first real guitar from her grandparents on her 13th birthday.
“It has always been my dream to be a singer,” she told the newspaper. “Once I started playing guitar and performing more often, my passion for music became a top priority. With every new song I record and music video I release, I see my dreams come true.”
She started her country music career at the age of 16

When Maggie was just 16, she released her first single, the country-pop song “First Kiss.” The video for the song was directed by the famous country music director Trey Fanjoy, and was shot in Nashville.
Her other singles include “Wild Boy,” “Live Out Loud” and “If I Was Gonna Go.”
She served as a “special touch writer” on the Wheel of Fortune in 2020

After Pat underwent emergency surgery to repair a blocked bowel in November 2019, Maggie stepped in for her dad to play “the special person who touches the letters” on the show two months later.
During her performance at Wheel of FortuneMaggie described her father’s surgery as a “terrible experience” but added that it was “great, and I know he’s so excited to be back next week”.
Off screen, Maggie is seen supporting Pat during some of his first outings after surgery. The father-daughter duo attended a Washington Capitals game together three weeks after the procedure.
She is Wheel of Fortune social correspondent

Her father was the main thing Wheel of Fortune since 1981, and now — having previously replaced him — Maggie has her own Gameshow role: social media correspondent.
She assumed that position in 2021, saying: “The Wheel of Fortune the staff and crew have always been like extended family … and I’m thrilled to be working with them. It’s a real privilege to be able to treat longtime viewers of the show to see what happens when the cameras aren’t rolling. Besides, I can use the carpool lane with my father!”

A frequent social media user, Maggie regularly posts snaps of herself with her family. For Father’s Day 2022, she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with her father at a kindergarten father-daughter dance, joking that she “can’t believe he was still in kindergarten at that age!”
In September 2021, she shared another photo of the whole family on set Wheel of Fortune on Instagram, captioning the post: “Memories on the set of @wheelofortune (before I learned how to look at a real camera).”
He has a pet dog

While the dog of the Sajak family with whom she was 12 years old, Stella, died in 2021, Maggie got her own dog, Jak, in the meantime.
Maggie runs an Instagram account for Jak, which has over 2,500 followers. He even visited Wheel of Fortune set! Maggie documented her dog’s gaming debut on Instagram, including a video of her showing Jak around the studio.
“Showing Jake things he’s never seen before: ✨@wheelofortune set edition✨,” she captioned the April 2023 post.
She made her Wheel of Fortune hosting debut in May 2023

Although Maggie has appeared on the show several times over the years, she hosted the show for the first time on 10 May 2023, replacing White.
On May 9, Maggie announced the news on her Instagram Story, writing, “Warming up for Wednesday,” over a clip of her walking along Wheel of Fortune letter board.
During the episode, White appeared as a contestant, competing against Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings.
After the big debut, Maggie posted a photo of her and White from the night on Instagram.
“It was an HONOR to replace you tonight @officialvannawhite!” she captioned the photo. “And congrats on raising $30,000 for @stjude!🧡.”

After Pat announced in June 2023 that he was retiring from Wheel of Fortune, Maggie hinted that she might return to the show. She re-shared a post that quoted Pat revealing that the upcoming season will be his last, writing, “So much fun working with my dad… and we’re looking forward to even more fun in season 41.”
