All About Tom Ford's Son Alexander John Buckley Ford

Tom Ford has made his way to the top of the fashion world after years in the industry and has held multiple roles along the way, from creative director to film director. Despite his demanding career in fashion, Ford is also a devoted father to his now 11-year-old son, Alexander John Buckley Ford.

Ford welcomed her son in Los Angeles on September 23, 2012, alongside her late husband Richard Buckley, whom she married in a private ceremony in 2014.

The pair had been together since 1986, and Buckley was Ford’s biggest fan throughout his career.

“He sees everything, down to the last detail. In fact, I’ve never known anyone else capable of being so careful or precise. Nothing goes wrong,” Buckley wrote of her husband in a posthumous column. “And let’s just say that he can be a bit bossy in his work, but then he wouldn’t be where he is today if he hadn’t been unyielding in command.”

Nicknamed “Jack”

While Ford and Buckley’s son’s full name is Alexander John Buckley Ford, the pre-teen is nicknamed “Jack” by his father and those who know him.

“He has a very long fancy name, but I call him Jack,” Ford once said in an interview with Vogueis Andre Leon Talley.

He was raised in Los Angeles

Jack was born in a West Coast town and raised there by Ford. His upbringing differs from that of his father, who was born in Austin, Texas and spent most of his life in New York.

During the conversation with VogueAndré Leon Talley on the transition to fatherhood, Ford discussed the practical way he approached his new role.

“I feed him in the morning, change his diapers, dress him, play with him and have a good two to three hours before I go to the office, just me and Jack,” he said. Vogue.

However, the routine changed after the death of Ford’s husband, as he adjusted to yet another new phase in his life. “It was hard after 35 years, very hard,” Ford said The Wall Street Journal in the interview.

“Until recently, I’ve had Richard help me in the mornings. It’s been a bit difficult for the past month because otherwise he’d get [Jack’s] breakfast on school days while I was getting dressed,” he went on to explain. “I’ve gotten pretty good at it, but the challenge is getting him up, getting him dressed, making him lunch, packing his lunch, making his breakfast, doing all my chores, and then I drive to school at 7:45.”

Ford said The Wall Street Journal that he wouldn’t let Jack wear shorts to school and had only recently allowed him to wear graphic tees.
