This morning, temperatures dropped to minus 11C
Scotland has seen heavy snow over the past few days, with temperatures dropping dramatically on Friday night and into the early hours of the morning.
One of the main airports in the country stopped all outgoing and incoming flights this morning.
Glasgow Airport said that while their team worked through the night to prepare for the cold, “heavier than expected snow” fell.
A spokesman previously said: “Flights are currently suspended due to heavier snow than forecast.
“Our winter crews worked all night and we hope to resume work as soon as possible.
“Check with your airline for further flight updates.”
The airport is now “fully operational” again – passengers are still urged to check with operators for details.
It came after the Met Office today issued another emergency warning for snow and ice as heavy ice continues.
Temperatures plunged below freezing on Friday night after Britons saw snow fall in North Yorkshire, Scotland and London.
Much of the UK woke up to frost again on Saturday as forecasters suggest the cold spell won’t end anytime soon.
Aviemore, in Invernessshire, had the most snowfall overnight with 5cm on the ground as conditions dropped to a shocking minus 11C this morning.
In other parts, temperatures were lower than minus 10C to almost minus 9C.
The Met Office has now issued yellow warnings across the country.
The north coast and south west of Scotland will be affected, as will the south west, east coast of England and the West Mids.
The warnings will be in effect until midday Sunday.
