Allen Lazard’s parents are also teachers, and he has gained a lot from them in both academics and athletics. His father is a financial advisor and former high school coach, while his mother is a teacher. Allen Jamel Lazard was born in Des Moines, Iowa on December 11, 1995. He is a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets.
Lazard attended Urbandale High School and was a four-year starter on offense and defense. Lazard participated in the 2014 US Army All-American Bowl before committing to Iowa State. Coming out of high school, the Iowa native was a highly touted prospect. Rivals ranked him as Iowa’s top recruit and the nation’s seventh-best receiver. He attended Iowa State and was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2016 and 2017. He also holds the record for most receptions and receptions at Iowa State. In 2018, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was subsequently released. Allen Lazard was born into the Lazard family, the son of Kevin and Mary Lazard. On September 22, 1996, the father and mother of the player got married. When the couple got married, their two children were already born. Allen followed in his father’s footsteps since Kevin Lazard was a famous football player at the time. Kevin Lazard attended Bellflower High School from 1985 to 1989 and graduated in 1989.
From 1989 to 1994, he attended Iowa State University and earned a degree in MIS (Management of Information). He played college football there from 1989 to 1993. Kevin later earned an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix between 2006 and 2009. He is now employed by Primerica as a Personal Finance Representative. He previously worked as a Systems Analyst II at Iowa State University since April 2013. Kevin also worked briefly as a Development Analyst at Xpanxion.

From 1988 to 1992, Mary Lazard earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education engineering. She has been teaching at West Marshall CSD since August 2016. She previously worked as a teacher in Des Moines Public Schools from August 2013 to July 2016. From 2007 to 2013, Mary served as the Production Assimilation Coordinator at Hope Lutheran Church. From 2005 to 2007, she worked as a facilities manager and instructional planner at SportsPlex West.
She served as a site supervisor for Youth & Shelter Services from August 2003 to August 2005. She served as a site coordinator at Marshalltown Community Schools from August 2000 to August 2003.
Meet Allen Lazard’s brother Anthony Lazard
Anthony, Alen’s brother, was born on May 3, 1994 and is also a former soccer player. The two brothers are about a year apart in age. Anthony graduated from the University of Iowa in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health. Since January 2023, he has been working as the Coordinator for Applied Sports Science and Assistant Director for Football Sports Performance at Stanford University.
Anthony served as a strength and conditioning intern at the Iowa State University Department of Athletics in 2016 and then at Colorado State University in 2017. In 2018, he began working as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Central Methodist College in Missouri.
