Amelia Gray Hamlin doesn’t have to look far for fashion inspiration thanks to her parents, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, who have enviable clothing archives on hand.
“There are so many things in my mom and dad’s closets that I can appreciate. I would never choose one wardrobe [to borrow clothes from] for the day. I would have to style both together.” the model, 22, says while talking to PEOPLE exclusively about her partnership with Motorola.
The trendsetter admits that her personal style covers all the bases (“chaotic” is how she describes it), but what she strives for most these days is the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine aesthetics.

This is where her parents’ closets come into play.
“Sometimes I steal (but return) a bunch of my dad’s Calvin Klein white t-shirts and his Nike socks. He also has really comfortable flannel pieces,” Hamlin reveals about the types of clothes he steals from his father. And if the actor had kept his sunglasses from the 90s and 2000s, she would have worn them too.
There’s also Rinna’s closet, which Gray approaches with a completely different mindset. “I mostly get tighter, dressier things from my mom. I definitely stole my share of Versace.”
She adds that the ex The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has a selection of designer memorabilia, which comes in handy when she wants to show up to work on set – or prepare for a fashion show – in style.
“I’m taking whatever fashion I can get my hands on from that woman’s closet, that’s for sure,” admits Hamlin.

Of course, he has to share some subject with his older sister Delilah Belle, 25.
“She’s my mom’s shoe number, so she’s been lucky enough to dive into not only my closet, but my mom’s shoe collection, which I have to say is pretty big,” Hamlin adds.
At the end of the day, Hamlin says her parents simply let her explore her sense of style without apology.
“The funny thing is that neither of them will ever comment on what I’m wearing or give me any style advice because most of the time I show up at their house I’m in such crazy weird clothes. They just know I’m going to do my thing.”

All about the 2 daughters of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin
Hamlin is slowly sorting through her own clothing archive, a lesson she learned from her mom who, she says, declared that “one of her biggest regrets” in life was not archiving the best she knew.
“I want little things that no one will ever be able to have,” she says, adding that she likes to take home souvenirs from the shows she’s walked.
One of those valuables includes an exclusive Alaïa lab coat, usually worn by members of the brand’s couture atelier.
“I asked my dresser after checking out if she could please bring me one and she didn’t forget. I wore it as a cape backstage and then took it home.”
