When I was very young I started performing professionally in bars and clubs late at night with an all male band (The Incredible Mindfunk). Most parents are uncomfortable with this, but my parents are very supportive and show up to almost every show, full of pride. Even though I wanted to go to Boston, they supported me instead of worrying that I wouldn’t have the “safety net” of a degree to fall back on if music didn’t work out as a career. They trust me and my decisions. “
