Amit Mistry was an Indian actor, writer, and director. He was known for his role as Devendra Rathod in the 2020 Amazon Prime Original web series Bandish Bandits. He passed away on April 23, 2021 due to a heart attack.

He has played supporting roles in several Bollywood films such as Ek Chalis Ki Last Local (2007), Shor in the City (2010), Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), Bey Yaar (2014) and A Gentleman (2017). He was the dialogue writer for the Hindi film What’s Your Raashee? (2009). He also directed a short film Two Cubes Pls (2013). He has also acted in several Hindi television serials such as Who (1998), Dafa 420 (2015), Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie (2018) and Tenali Rama (2020).
In 2020, he starred in the Amazon Prime Original web series Bandish Bandits.

He died of a heart attack at his residence in Mumbai on April 23, 2021. Reacting to his sudden death, his manager Maharshi Desai said,
I myself am in complete shock. He was fine, just at home. He didn’t even complain of any health issues. After breakfast, he felt pain in his heart, it was a heart attack, and his family couldn’t even take him to the hospital. Losing an actor like him is a huge loss to the entertainment industry, and I will miss working with him.”

- In an interview, when asked about his feelings about being a part of Sony SAB’s TV series Tenali Rama (2020), he said,
I have never acted in a historical drama but I have always been fascinated to play a character like Birbal. Although working on television is a bit hectic, it is really fun to act in a show like Tenali Rama. I personally love the team of Contiloe Pictures too. When I was offered the role of Birbal, I was very happy and I immediately agreed to play the role. I received the rehearsal speech and when I read it, I loved it and I thought the character of Birbal was easy for me to understand.
