Amy Poehler is dating her ex The New York Times edited by Joel Lovell.
The Parks and recreation The alum and journalist are enjoying their time together, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The couple started dating at the beginning of summer.

After leaving the post of deputy editor The New York Times MagazineLovell has made the transition to podcasting and currently works as an executive editor at Pineapple Street Studios. According to the company’s website, he has edited many of the studio’s original podcasts such as Richard Simmons is missing, Winds of change and 9/12.
A representative for Poehler did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Like Lovell, Poehler, 53, is no stranger to the podcasting universe.
In September 2023, Saturday night live alum told PEOPLE that she is partnering with her longtime friend Liz Cackowski and Audacy Television to release a scripted comedy podcast series titled, Say more with Dr. Sheila. Coincidentally, Lovell’s Pineapple Studios is also owned by Audacy.

IN Say morePoehler played “world-class therapist and life coach” Dr. Sheila, who offers questioning couples advice on all things relationship.
“Podcasts are a big part of my life and we wanted to pay tribute to all the different kinds of podcasts that we listen to,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “The best thing about podcasting is that it’s a really intimate medium. You often feel like the person is talking to you and it feels very personal. So I think it’s a really fun landscape and it expands your options and your ability to be funny.”
It was a triumphant summer for Poehler for another reason: she starred in Inside out 2Disney-Pixar’s animated film that conquered the global box office, crossing the billion dollar mark in less than three weeks. The film features the voices of Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Tony Hale as Fear, Maya Hawke as the new emotion Anxiety and more.
Poehler has sons Archie, 15, and Abel, 14, with ex-husband Will Arnett. They divorced in 2016.
