Amy Slaton's 2 Kids: All About Gage and Glenn

Amy Slaton always wanted to be a mom.

“My heart is full,” she said during an episode of the hit TLC reality series in 2023 after Glenn’s birth. “Being a mom is what I’ve wanted to do since I was 5 and I’ve always wanted two kids. Our family is finally complete. We can be framed and hung on the wall now.”

Amy got pregnant with her first child shortly after bariatric weight loss surgery in 2020. She wasn’t supposed to get pregnant for at least two years after that, so when her sister Tammy found out she was pregnant, Tammy couldn’t help but worry about her younger sibling.

“When I first heard that Amy was pregnant, I felt all sorts of things, I was angry and sad and worried about her health and safety because it was so soon after her surgery,” Tammy told PEOPLE in 2021. “I’m happy she got pregnant because it was the only thing she wanted most in life,” she says.

In 2024, Amy said she tries to “be there” for her sons as much as possible and shared her hopes for her two sons as they grow up.

“I want them to learn how to be good boys. I want them to learn as much as they can, absorb all that knowledge,” she told PEOPLE. “I don’t want them to be on the street one day. I want them to actually be contributing members of society.”

In September 2024, Amy was arrested at a zoo in Tennessee on charges of drug possession and child endangerment. According to a post shared by the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook, when police responded to reports that a guest had been bitten by a camel at the Tennessee Safari Park, they detected “suspicious odors” coming from the guest’s vehicle, which led to the arrest of both Amy and Brian Scott Lovvorn.

Amy’s first child, son Gaga Deon, was born on November 10, 2020. The reality star’s journey to becoming a mother for the first time has been extensively documented on her TLC show, and she opened up about the emotions she felt after meeting her “miracle” son. .

“Looking at Gage, I just see his whole future basically, because he’s going to college,” she shared in a confessional.

– It’s emotional – she added. “It can’t really be discussed [it] because you just love him so much that you have no words to explain how much you love him.”

In another episode, Amy said: “The first time I held Gage was surreal. My heart just melted. He was so perfect. His little fingers, his toes. Yeah, I made this little ball of joy.”

Speaking about her sister’s mental health issues and her divorce from Halterman in 2023, Tammy explained that her nephews benefited from their mom going to therapy. Especially Gage, who often showed signs of anxiety during his parents’ divorce. “I think the children are even happier now. Gage, I guess he has anxiety, and when he really gets over it, he starts crying and holding his ears,” she told PEOPLE in 2024. “So he doesn’t do that very often anymore.”

Amy also teaches her children as many healthy habits as possible. When it comes to food, the 4-year-old is a fan of greens. “Gage will eat Brussels sprouts. He will eat broccoli. They will eat cauliflower. He’ll eat it all,” she said, although she admits she “prefers chicken nuggets and fries!”

In November 2022, Gage celebrated his second birthday by playing in the park and at Chuck E. Cheese.

The TLC star’s youngest child, Glenn Allen, was born via C-section on July 5, 2022.

“The wait is finally over… Michael and I are happy to announce the birth of our son, Glenn Allen Halterman,” Amy told PEOPLE at the time. “The birth was a huge success and now I have both of my wonderful boys; our family is complete!”

Amy and her then-husband Halterman later talked about Glenn’s arrival during an episode The 1000 pound sisters. In one clip, Amy recalled Halterman’s funny first interaction with her younger son.

“The doctor screamed, ‘He’s peeing! He’s peeing!’ and tried to hand it to Michael very quickly so he would pee on Michael,” Amy explained with a laugh. “It was just funny. He said, ‘You need to stop having kids. Your babies are always peeing or farting on me.’ ”

In early 2024, Amy bravely spoke out about her struggles with mental health following her divorce from Halterman. She revealed that she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression and acute stress disorder, “which is like PTSD because of everything that’s going on with Michael.”

“[My mental health was] worst ever,” Amy told PEOPLE at the time. “And it didn’t just affect me, it affected Gage and Glenn as well. So it was just rough.”

The reality star added that she sought therapy and medication for her condition. He tries to maintain his happiness by “conversing with [her sister] Tammy and to be with her children and family as much as possible. Surrounding yourself with love and light… and puppies.”

Glenn also resembles his older brother Gage. After Amy posted a video with Glenn on TikTok in February 2024, one user commented: “Oh my God!! For a second I thought it was Gage. You blink and you miss it [Glenn] growing up. Crazy!”

Amy agreed and replied, “They look so similar.”
