An Inclusive Guide to Set up Roadrunner Email Account on Outlook

The best part of being a Roadrunner email account user is that you can set it up in Microsoft Outlook and check all your emails in one place. Once you’ve set up your Outlook account, you won’t need to sign in to Roadrunner email to access your emails, as you can with Outlook. Also, if you have more than one Roadrunner account, you can add them all to Outlook to make it more convenient to use.

Also, Outlook is available in different versions like 2013, 2016, 2019 etc. which makes the process somewhat complex. But don’t worry as here you will get a step by step guide to help you set up Roadrunner email account in Outlook automatically and manually.

Before I started Roadrunner, once offered by Time Warner Cable (TWC), is now operated by Spectrum webmail. So all the configuration will be through Spectrum. Now let’s get started with setting up Roadrunner email in Outlook.

    Method-1 Automatic configuration

    To automatically set up your Spectrum email account, here’s what to do:

    1. Go to Outlook and select the ‘File’ tab.
    2. Open the ‘Information’ category, go to the ‘Account Settings’ option and select ‘Account Settings’ again from the menu.

    Open your Outlook account and click Account Settings

    1. In the “Email” tab, select “New”.
    2. Next, in the “Automatic Account Setup” section, fill in the following information under “Email Account”:

    Your Name: Enter your full name

    Email Address: Enter your Spectrum email address.

    Password: Enter your Spectrum email password.

    Re-enter your password: Re-enter your password

    Click ‘Next’ to start the automatic account setup process.

    Method-2 Manual Configuration

    In case the automatic setup fails, you can even try again, and if that fails, you can go for this method i.e. manual setup.

    Follow the instructions provided to manually add your Roadrunner Spectrum email account:

    1. Open Outlook and click on the ‘File’ tab.
    2. Go to the ‘Information’ category on the left and then click on ‘Account Settings’; in the dropdown menu, click ‘Account Settings’ again.
    3. In the ‘Email’ tab, click on the ‘New’ option.
    4. Select the “Manual configuration or additional server types” option at the bottom, and then click “Next”.

    Name: Enter your full name

    Email Address: Enter your Spectrum email address.

    Password: Enter your email password.

    If you want to save your password, select the ‘Remember password’ checkbox.

    Also select the ‘Require login using secure password authentication’ (SPA) checkbox.

    1. Then select Test account settings to verify that the Internet is correctly connected to the device and that you are logged in to the servers. You will also receive a text message showing you the changes made to the initial Outlook settings.
    2. Finally, click ‘Next’ and then ‘Finish’ to complete the setup.

    Method-1 Automatic configuration

    Follow the steps below to automatically set up an email account for Roadrunner in Outlook 2010:

    1. Go to Outlook and then go to the ‘File’ tab.
    2. Then go to ‘Information’ and select ‘Add account’; The ‘Add New Account’ wizard will open.
