An Office Reunion Is Coming to What We Do in the Shadows: See Mark Proksch and Zach Woods in Season 6 (Exclusive)

Two stars from Office they get together again What we do in the shadows — and PEOPLE has your exclusive first look as Mark Proksch and Zach Woods bring laughs to an all-new episode of the FX comedy series.

As fans of the long-running NBC workplace comedy may recall, Woods was the first to join Office as Gabe Lewis, a member of Sabre, the company that bought Dunder Mifflin, in Season 6 and has since starred in Silicon Valley and After party. Proksch, meanwhile, began recurring as warehouse employee Nate Nickerson in Season 7 before breaking through as vampire Colin Robinson on What we do in the shadows.

In “PI Undercover: New York,” premiering Monday, Nov. 25 on FX, Woods guest stars as Joel, a former co-worker and friend who is visited by Colin. However, their evening does not go as planned when a dinner attended by Joel’s wife, Becky (Kim Quindlen) and fellow vampire Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) takes an unexpected turn.

In a preview of the episode written by Max Brockman and directed by Kyle Newacheck, Colin gives Joel a gift as the two awkwardly discuss the current baseball season. Unfortunately for Colin, Joel is no longer in sports, citing those “freakin’ rule changes,” with Colin realizing he’s wasted two weeks “watching every Mets game for the past seven years.”

When it comes to Woods What we do in the shadows — especially during its final season as the show sadly comes to a close — showrunner and executive producer Paul Simms tells PEOPLE it’s been a long time coming.

“Zach is someone we wanted to have on the show from the beginning, but we wanted to find a good Colin Robinson story for him to be in, as we’re all fans Office” he says. “Watching Zach and Mark improvise about completely banal things — like recent rule changes in baseball or bathroom tile renovations — is one of the funniest things in the world to me.”

And Simms is right. The interaction between the characters of the two actors is funny to watch — and they both acted Office is an added bonus, considering how much they both perfected that dry portrayal of the series.

Echoing that sentiment, Proksch tells PEOPLE, “Zach is not only my friend, but one of my favorite actors to work with. He’s such a fun and intuitive performer. It really felt like we hadn’t skipped a beat since we were on Office.”
