Symonds made his ODI debut against Pakistan on 10 November 1998 at the Gaddafi Stadium. He made his Test debut against Sri Lanka on 8 March 2004 at the Galle International Stadium. He made his T20 debut against New Zealand on 17 February 2005 at Eden Park. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium bowler. His jersey number is #63.
