Andy Cohen Recalls Son Ben’s ‘Meltdown’ When They Left Thanksgiving Day Parade and Bumped Into Cher

Andy Cohen’s little one was not impressed by meeting the icon.

The Watch what’s happening live host, 55, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday, where he opened up about what it was like when 4½-year-old son Benjamin Allen met Cher after her performance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“He was in the middle of a big tantrum because I took him out of the Macy’s Day Parade,” Cohen recounted, explaining, “When she showed up, in my mind, the parade was over.”

“She’s my Santa,” Cohen laughed. “For him, Santa marked the end of the parade and when I took him away, he was – he couldn’t believe we were leaving.”

But the meltdown didn’t stop when the father and son bumped into the iconic singer on their way out. “We ran into her at Macy’s on our way out and Ben freaked out. He was in his feelings.”

“I said, ‘I’m sorry, he doesn’t want to go,’ and then she said, ‘Then stay,'” he recalled, adding, “I was like, ‘It’s over. You sang your song. We’re done.’

Earlier this month, Cohen and Ben spoke after the father-of-two woke up to find his boy eating a gingerbread house gifted to their family by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.

“Ben, I hate to come downstairs and find you with a gingerbread house in your mouth. Do you understand me? Why are you doing this?”

“It’s just so delicious,” Ben replied sweetly.

“I told you not to eat the gingerbread house. I’m sure it’s delicious, but I don’t think you should eat it, Ben,” Cohen replied before asking, “How does it taste?”

“It tastes so good, like a cookie or something,” Ben replied, clearly delighted at the discovery.
