Angelina Jolie Lights Up Maria Red Carpet with 3 of Her Kids at New York Film Festival: See Their Looks

Angelina Jolie brought the glamor – and three of her six children – to the New York Film Festival.

For the festival premiere Maria On Sunday, Sept. 29, at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, the Oscar winner walked the red carpet with her three children — Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Maddox, 23 — while wearing a sleeveless white dress. Zahara also wore a white dress, while Pax had a gray suit and tie and Maddox a black suit and black tie.

In the biopic, Jolie (49) turns into the late opera singer Maria Callas, and before Sunday’s carpet, the mother of six rode Maria garnering strong reviews as well as standing ovations at the Venice Film Festival, where Jolie cried, and the Telluride Film Festival.

For preparation Mariawhich is in select theaters Nov. 27 and on Netflix Dec. 11, Jolie spent months working on her singing voice — and even got some much-needed help from her sons to calm her nerves.

“I was terribly nervous; I spent almost seven months training,” Jolie recalled at a press conference in August. “When I sang for the first time, I remember being very nervous. My sons were there and helped block the door [so] that no one else was entering, and I was trembling.”

Directed by Pablo Larraín — who also revived Jackie about Jacqueline Kennedy and Spencer about Princess Diana – Maria describes the acclaimed life of the singer before her fatal heart attack at the age of 53.

“Situated in Paris, September 1977, during the last week of her life, Maria follows the legendary soprano as she negotiates her public image and private self and reckons with the increasingly blurred boundaries between the revered ‘La Divine’ and the vulnerable human being Maria,” reads the film’s synopsis on the New York Film Festival website, which adds that the film “is punctuated by large operatic interludes”.

Sunday’s glamorous look followed Jolie’s moment on the red carpet in Venice.

For the premiere at the Venice Film Festival on August 29, the actress wore a custom strapless beige dress by Tamara Ralph with a fur trim covering the sleeves, draping along the silhouette and a gathered skirt hem. Her blonde hair was styled with a side parting, which she paired with bold red lipstick and nails.

Except MariaJolie also promoted the war drama No Bloodwhich she directed, on the film festival circuit.

At the Toronto International Film Festival, Jolie wore a black Dolce & Gabbana dress with opera-style elbow-length silk gloves and posed with her son Pax, who was working on the film.
