Angelina Jolie once again brings her recognizable elegance to the red carpet, but with a stylish touch!
The 49-year-old star looked regal as ever in a long sheer silk dress and a light black shawl-style jacket at the premiere of her film on Saturday, October 26 Maria, which took place during the AFI Film Festival in Los Angeles.
But her curly locks were a surprising departure from her usual red carpet style. While the actress appeared in CR fashion book with curls in September, her look when she hits the carpet is usually with her hair straight or in a chic updo. But on October 26, she opted for a hairstyle with voluminous beachy curls, styled with a side part.
Jolie accessorized her new red carpet look with drop earrings, bold red lipstick and subtle eye makeup with just a hint of eyeshadow and black eyeliner. She matched the manicure with her lips, with bright red nails for a striking red carpet look.

Angelina Jolie rediscovers her voice as opera singer Maria Callas in Emotional New Maria Trailer
In the biopic directed by Pablo Larraín, Jolie plays the late opera singer Maria Callas. According to the synopsis, the film “follows the American-Greek soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye,” following the singer “in her final days as the diva comes to terms with her identity and her life.”
Callas, who became famous for her three-octave soprano vocals, died in Paris in 1977 of a heart attack at the age of 53. Jolie underwent months of training to play the famous singer.
On the red carpet on Oct. 26, Jolie spoke with PEOPLE about how she connected with the character and where she sees the intersection between herself and Callas.
“I know there are certain things that people from a distance would assume we have in common, but I think what we have in common is maybe that we share a certain loneliness in that sometimes we do our work where we’re the real, I don’t know, awake at night , alone, trying to figure something out,” she told PEOPLE, adding, “I don’t want to talk too much about it because it’s too personal, but there’s definitely loneliness and work ethics.”
“I may be many things, but I’m a very hard worker, aren’t I? I’m an imperfect person, but I work very hard and she works. And that’s how I think we see myself, I don’t know if she or I would ever see myself as anything but a performer and a worker who has a job to do, and probably a very hard one on ourselves,” Jolie continued.

He matched his mother’s look by wearing a black suit and tie in combination with dark shades on the red carpet. After the screening, he joined the audience in giving Jolie and the film crew a standing ovation.
