Anna Wintour Reveals the Hilarious Nickname Her Grandchildren Used to Call Her

To Anna Wintour’s grandchildren, she is just Anna.

No really, her name is Anna.

In the episode of September 3 Originated from Cush JumboWintour told host Cush Jumbo about her three grandchildren. Wintour’s son Charles Shaffer has two children, and her daughter Bee Carrozzini has one child.

“I would like more [grandchildren]but that might be it,” Wintour said. “No, they’re great. They’re great.”

Wintour then told Jumbo that the kids call her Anna, but when they were younger, they had a different nickname for her — and it definitely wasn’t “Grandma” or anything like that.

“We don’t talk about it [work]. … we play tennis. We’re talking about dogs. When they were little, they always saw me with, we have three dogs, with dogs. So they called me ‘dog’. Um, but you know, I’m a lady with, with dogs, three dogs.”

Wintour, who is the editor-in-chief Voguepreviously discovered ua 73 questions video of her coming out, that her grandchildren simply call her “Anna.”

When asked who her last FaceTime video was with, she replied that it was with her “grandchildren”, although she did not specify with whom at the time.

Then she revealed her name.

Elsewhere on Jumbo’s podcast, Wintour talked about her days as an assistant, telling the host that she was “terrible” at the job.

“I couldn’t do any of the things that assistants are supposed to do, like type or, uh, you know, sew on buttons, I was awful,” she said. “I still can’t type very well, but it was like, you know, very different times. Uh, where people got jobs with no skills, but maybe somebody knew somebody.”

Wintour went so far as to say she wasn’t good at anything when she was young – she got “fired”. Harper’s Bazaar” before landing on New York Magazineand eventually made her way to where she is now.
