Anthony Ramos Calls Taylor Swift 'Amazing for Football' as He Talks His Own Jets Fandom

Anthony Ramos is a huge New York Jets fan — but he’s focused on a different story this football season.

During a New England Patriots vs. Jets viewing party he hosted The Athletic as part of their Superstition Replacement campaign, Hamilton The actor was asked what other stories he tunes into at NFL games — and like many other fans, it’s Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

“Oh, she was amazing for soccer,” he said of the 14-time Grammy winner. “Since they started coming out, hasn’t the viewership gone up significantly – as far as the games they play?”

He added: “Well, not significantly, but they went up because people were watching the game just to see that cut of Taylor at the game.”

Scoop City podcast host and up Athletic NFL insider Dianna Russini agreed. “You know, you’re getting a different demographic, too, right? You’re getting Taylor Swift fans, which are traditionally young girls now saying, I want to watch football [game] because I see Taylor up in the suite supporting her boyfriend.”

Russini added that Kelce, 34, “flew across the ocean” to support her while on the Eras Tour, making stops in Singapore, London, Sydney and Buenos Aires, among other cities. Now, Swift, 34, is doing the same for him.

“She tries to be at all the Chiefs games and they have a really good winning percentage, which is also there,” she continued. “So it works and it’s real.”

So far this football season, the Chiefs are 2-0 after defeating the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. They will face the Atlanta Falcons next on Sunday, September 22nd.

Swift and Kelce started dating in the summer of 2023. She first showed up at one of his games last September and has since become a fixture at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium.

She followed the Chiefs throughout the postseason and cheered on the Kelce during the Super Bowl championship in February, coming to Las Vegas all the way from her Tokyo stop on the Eras Tour.

An insider told PEOPLE how much fun Swift had accompanying Kelce to the Super Bowl. “It was the most exciting experience,” a source said of the championship game in February.

“She loved going to all the games, but of course this was on another level,” the source added. “They partied and celebrated all night. It’s been the best few months for them.”
