Anupam Shyam is an Indian film and television actor. He is popular for his role as Thakur Sajjan Singh in the Hindi television series Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya (2009) aired on Star Plus.

Anupam Shyam was born on Friday, September 20, 1957 (6e years; time of death) in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. His star sign is Virgo. He did his schooling at GIC Pratapgarh. Later, he attended Ram Manohar Lohia University, Faizabad. He graduated from Bhartendu Academy of Dramatic Arts, Lucknow in 1985. He attended the National School of Drama, Delhi in 1987.

He made his debut in the Bollywood film Sardari Begum (1996). He has acted in many Bollywood films such as Dastak (1996), Dushman (1998), Satya (1998), Nayak: The Real Hero (2001), Shakti: The Power (2002), Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2005), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Raaz – The Mystery Continues (2009), Munna Michael (2017) and 706 (2019). He has also acted in several regional language films.

On August 9, 2021, he died of multiple organ failure while being treated for a kidney infection in a Mumbai hospital.

- He has received various awards for his performances in several television series and films.
- On July 28, 2020, he was rushed to Lifeline Medical Insurance Hospital, Mumbai, due to kidney failure and was admitted to the ICU. Anupam’s family requested for financial assistance for his treatment. The Film and Television Artists Association (CINTAA) also shared a post requesting donations for the actor. Bollywood’s famous actor Sonu Sood helped him in such a crisis.
Anupam’s brother Anurag said,
Anupam is undergoing dialysis treatment at the Apex Renal Care Centre in Malad, a northern suburb of Mumbai. There is an economic crisis at the moment, so we are talking to people. We have written to the Being Human website. We have informed some of Anupam’s friends about his condition. Manoj Bajpayee ji called and said he would look into the matter.”

Anurag also revealed that the actor was upset as he could not return to his hometown to visit his mother, who had passed away a month earlier, along with Anupam. Anurag said,
Our family has been going through a lot. My mom passed away last month. Anupam was devastated and he couldn’t go to Pratapgarh (where their mom lives). If there was no dialysis center in the town, going there would have been a big health risk for Anupam. We urged for a dialysis center to be opened in Pratapgarh and Anupam even went to Aamir Khan.
