Death/Suicide
On August 2, 2020, she hanged herself in her rented apartment in the Mumbai suburb of Dahisar. Her death was reported by the media four days after her suicide. A day before her suicide, she recorded a 10-minute live video on her Facebook account. In the live video, she said:
If you confide in someone that you are having some problems and having suicidal thoughts, then no matter how good a friend he or she is, that person will immediately ask you to keep them away from your problems so that they don’t get in trouble after your death. Also people will make fun of you and disrespect you in front of others. So never share your problems with anyone and never consider anyone as your friend.

The police also found her suicide note, in which Manish Jha’s name was mentioned. She wrote that Manish had borrowed a two-wheeler from her during the lockdown, but he refused to return it. She also wrote that she had invested 10,000 rupees in a company called Wisdom Productions, but the company did not return her money with interest even after the due date. Local police said that her husband was away for work when she committed suicide.
