Ariana Grande knows her angles.
At the women’s luncheon of the Academy in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 10, singer i Wicked The star, 31, had a witty chat with photographers on the red carpet.
In the video shot by Bustle, Grande poses with one leg stretched out in front of the other. She asks the photographers, “Is this a good place for my toe?” and then jokes, “I gave into this pose,” as onlookers laugh.
After taking her turn to another photographer, Grande asks, “Would you like something different?” An off-camera voice says “No, that’s good,” and she continues to pose.
For the event presented by Chanel, Grande wore a shimmering structured minidress with a plunging neckline. She accessorized with a pair of black leggings, black pointed-toe pumps and a black ribbon in her blonde hair, which she pulled back into a sleek updo.

According to a press release, the Academy Women’s Luncheon brought together “women from all aspects of the filmmaking community” to celebrate the Academy’s Gold Fellowship for Women, a program that supports emerging female directors.
On Monday, December 9, it was announced that Grande’s role as Glinda in the Wicked it earned her a Golden Globe nomination. The star was nominated by an actress in a supporting role.

In a recent joint interview with Cynthia Erivo conducted by French content creator Crazy Sally, Grande got emotional discussing criticism of her appearance.

“It’s hard to protect yourself from that noise,” she said. “It’s something that’s embarrassing no matter what level you experience it, even if you go to Thanksgiving dinner and someone’s grandmother says ‘Oh my God, you look thinner, what happened?’ or ‘you look heavier what happened?'”
The star added that she relies on her family and friends for support.
“I’m really lucky to have the support system that I have and I just know and believe that I’m beautiful. But I know what that noise feels like,” she explained. “It’s been present in my life since I was 17. I just don’t invite him in anymore. I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love. imam so lots of love. He wasn’t invited, so I don’t leave room for that anymore.”
