Ariana Grande reveals an unusual request from her Disney-loving mom Joan.
The Wicked star, 31, was candid about one of her mother’s biggest wishes as she appeared on Las Culturistas podcast, hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, on Wednesday, November 6.
As the trio discuss the iconic attractions at Disneyland and Disney World, Grande then talks about how her mom keeps telling her and her brother Frankie Grande that they have to spread her ashes at a theme park in Florida.
“When it comes to Florida. When it comes to Disney in Florida,” Grande begins, “first of all, we get Cinderella’s Castle. Which, you know, is also a landmark.”
He continues: “My mom tells us too often that she wants to be sprinkled with ashes. And I say: ‘Mom, it’s Christmas. Do we have to talk about this right now?’ And she said, ‘Yes. You have to make sure that happens.’”

Grande — who has been busy promoting the first installment of her much-anticipated film Wicked (out Nov. 22) — recalls his response to his mom’s question: “I say, ‘Mom, I don’t want to make sure that happens.'”
She also points out a rather morbid problem that she predicts will occur as a result of her mother’s plan.
“I think actors work there. So you will be sprinkled on the heads of people who are dressed as Tinker Bell and are waiting for their sign,” he jokes.
“Totally. It’s like a hotel room there,” Yang adds, referring to the exclusive suite at Cinderella Castle.
“I was there because I was performing at the castle once and I got to change there, which was really cool,” notes Grande. “It’s really beautiful and feels very real.”

Unfortunately, the Grammy-winning mom’s wish will never come true because it is illegal to scatter a loved one’s ashes at Disney theme parks.
According to the 2018 report The Wall Street Journala Disney representative confirmed that the act of scattering ashes in any of the parks is “strictly prohibited and illegal. Guests attempting to do so will be escorted from the property.”

If ash were to be discovered on the attraction, the ride must then be shut down due to “technical difficulties” and the manager must walk through it himself to identify the ash, according to WSJ .
Custodians, who call it “HEPA cleaning,” then use an ultra-fine vacuum to collect all the small particles.
That didn’t stop some guests from trying to do it, though.
The most popular final resting places in the parks are the flower beds and bushes, the Magic Kingdom lawns, outside the park gates, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the moat under the flying elephants in the Dumbo ride — and above all, the Haunted Castle, towards the jack.
One guard said, “The haunted mansion probably has so much human ash in it it’s not even funny.”
