She was found dead at her residence in Jodhpur Park, a posh area of Kolkata, on Friday, December 11, 2020. According to forensic experts, her nose was bleeding and she had vomited before taking her last breath. She was found lying on the bedroom floor. The local police said in an interview with reporters,
Banerjee lives alone in her house with a dog. Her sister lives in Singapore. Many empty wine bottles were found in the room. Like every day when her maid came to work, when she didn’t get any response, she informed the neighbors and notified the police. The house was locked from the inside. The investigation is ongoing. ”
