Ashish Sakharkar was born on Sunday, November 18, 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra (age 43 at time of death). His zodiac sign is Scorpio. He attended Hill Grange High School in Mumbai. He then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. During college, he became interested in bodybuilding because his father was also a bodybuilder. Although he passed the Chartered Accountant (CA) Level 1 examination, he chose to pursue a career in bodybuilding.

In 1999, he began competing in bodybuilding competitions by participating in local amateur YMCA events. He had only been training for six months at that time; however, he won a gold medal in the men’s novice category. This win made him even more committed to bodybuilding. He subsequently won Mr. Maharashtra and later Mr. India (Federation Cup) four times.
Subsequently, he won a gold medal in the IFBB European Championship, a silver medal in the IFBB Mr. Asia Championship, a silver and a bronze medal in the IFBB Mr. Universe Championship, and placed seventh in the Amateur Mr. Olympia Championship. He mainly participates in bodybuilding competitions in the 80kg category. He competed in the 2013 Sheru Classic; however, he did not win any medals.
diet
While preparing for a bodybuilding competition in 2011, he revealed that his daily diet included 50 eggs, 1 kilogram of chicken, 1 kilogram of fish and half a kilogram of dried fruits. He said he divides his day’s meals into four portions to maintain his nutritional needs.
exercise
He likes to exercise twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. He primarily performs free weight exercises using barbells and dumbbells. During his training, he also worked with many famous IFBB bodybuilders.

Apart from working out on his own, Ashish also works as a fitness instructor at various gyms. In April 2021, he opened his own gym called Midtown Fitness in Mumbai.

Ashish Sakharkar passed away on July 19, 2023, after battling the disease for a week. A week before his death, he was admitted to a hospital in south Mumbai with fever and illness. During treatment, he initially showed signs of recovery. However, he did not recover and died during treatment.
