BABY A girl was mauled to death by her family’s dog while she was at home.
A seven-month-old baby was rushed to hospital after the horror which happened on Sunday afternoon in Coventry, West Midlands.

Unfortunately, she could not be saved and was pronounced dead after suffering severe head injuries.
A pet dog, which does not belong to dangerous breeds, was thrown out of the house on Sunday and humanely destroyed.

West Midlands Police said: “A baby has tragically died after being bitten by a pet dog at a home in Coventry.
“We were called to a property in Shorncliffe Road shortly after 3pm on Sunday. Along with our colleagues from the ambulance service, we arrived within minutes.
“A seven-month-old girl suffered serious head injuries after being bitten by the family dog in the house.
“Medics treated her at the scene before she was rushed to hospital for further treatment. Tragically, she died a short time later.
“Our thoughts remain with her family at this devastating time.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation and our inquiries are continuing.”
