Bachelor Chris Soules Says He’s Nearly 6 Months Sober: 'The Longest I’ve Went Without Drinking Since I Was a Kid' 

Bachelor Alum Chris Soules says he was sober for almost six months, saying, “Enough is enough,” after discovering that he started drinking before he had a driver’s license at all.

“HEALTH, I actually stopped drinking in August and planning to continue this in the foreseeable future, which is a big deal for me,” said the reality star, who was in the 19 Hit ABC season in January. Ben & Ashley almost famous Podcast.

“Somehow I accepted it and I hope it will do a lot of better things in my life,” he continued.

Soules – who has been arrested in the past for driving under the influence – explained that there is no specific catalyst that caused him to give up alcohol. Drinking is “just getting to the point where hangovers don’t get lighter,” Soules explained, 43, it became more than not to do so much for fun, as much as you do as something for something for something, cover only the stress in general. ”

Ever since I gave up drinking, “I’m mentally much clearer,” he said, adding that “the level of self-executed anxiety and stress, inside … Alcohol doesn’t make it easier. That makes it harder.”

Soules explained that now, in the morning, he felt like “going to the gym” instead of “recovering”.

“It’s pretty stunning. I think it’s the longest thing I’ve gone without drinking from a baby – a little kid – which is scary for me,” he said, explaining that the drink is a “deep cultural thing” in the Middle West. Originally from Iowa, he said it grew up, “the beer was very main,” and shared that he started drinking before “I had a license.”

Now, says, “Mentally, the clarity you get from it, and [I’m] Starting working on other things, only meditation and similar things. Now I’m becoming an old man, I got in front of me for the next 40 years of my life, so trying to really, hopefully, embrace it. It allows me to be a better person to the people I love – more present there, which is huge. ”

“It was a lifestyle for so long, alcohol is just not very healthy for you,” he said. “I just decided, enough is enough.”
