Bachelorette Jenn Tran Says 'Devin Disrespected Me' but 'It Has Nothing to Do with Maria' (Exclusive)

Jenn Tran talks about Maria Georgas’ response to claims that Devin Strader followed her right after their engagement broke off.

After Jenn called out Devin’s behavior following her historic proposal to Bachelor season 21 finale, tells PEOPLE exclusively why she mentioned him by following Maria on social media on After the Final Rose.

Highlighting his lack of consideration for their relationship — Jenn said Devin broke off their engagement in a 15-minute phone conversation — the Bachelor says her comment about Maria was simply an example of Devin’s bad choices.

“When I mentioned her name on stage, I knew it was going to cause a big stir, but for me it was important to point out the ways Devin disrespected me,” Jenn explains. “It has nothing to do with Maria. I know nothing happened.”

“She’s a lot smarter than Devin,” Jenn continues. “I know you wouldn’t do anything about it anyway. So I didn’t call it out to actually speculate on what was going on because I know nothing happened. But the fact that he tried is what disappoints me.”

Jenn also reveals that Maria hasn’t contacted her personally, but she did watch Maria’s TikTok video discussing the situation, where she reiterated that she has never communicated with Devin and doesn’t plan to.

“Listen, I love a girl. I support her from afar and I’m happy that we can be on good terms and that’s all,” Jenn tells PEOPLE, adding. “It’s okay.”

Someone unexpected who Jenn says he is did however, there was Sam M., who spent a lot of time on Bachelor drawing attention to Devin being there for the wrong reasons.

“He reached out to me and sent me a message, which was honestly very nice,” he admits.

On Men Tell All , Jenn had a few words for Sam M. after viewers saw him tell her that the other guys expected either Maria or Daisy — who was on Joey Graziadei’s season with Jenn — to be the Bachelor. Still, Jenn says she’s grateful for the support all the men have given her.

“At the end of the day, I think there was a point where they talked about Devin and again, they didn’t really say anything about me in public, and that was it,” she says. “But I mean, at this point, I don’t owe them anything. They don’t owe me anything. It is what it is.”

On Thursday, September 5, just two days after the After the Final Rose special aired, Maria took to social media to clear up rumors that she was spending time with Devin. She captioned the post: “Leave it alone.”

“I stopped defending my character,” she said. “I know who I am and my friends and family know who I am. I am speechless at the fact that you were looking at me through a screen and could still see how real I was. I understand that Jenn needs to speak up about this – speak your mind girl, I respect that. I just think that without full context it leads people to believe a completely different narrative.”

“I had no idea about it [Devin’s follow] until people brought it to my attention,” she continued. “And by then, when I found out, he stopped following. Let me get something straight: I’ve never met Devin before… I’ve never gone out to a club with him [Devin]. He did his own thing. Did I go out with Jeremy – a night out with friends, a bunch of us together? Yes, I did.”
