Bake Off’s Noel Fielding reveals why working with Matt Lucas was ‘difficult’ in candid comment

Great British Bake Off host Noel Fielding has opened up about why working with co-star Matt Lucas on the show was “difficult”.

The The mighty Boosh star, who joined Channel 4’s baking competition in 2019, was joined by Little Britain actor in 2020 when Sandi Toksvig left the series. Noel explained that it took them a while to find their chemistry on screen, given that the TV stars were already friends and are best known for their two-parters.

Noel told the Radio Times: “It was a bit weird with Matt because we’re friends and we’re probably the same low-status person from our doubles. Where is he [David] Walliams and I have Julian [Barrett]. It was harder to find how we worked together, but we managed to find a way.”
