Her trick for using a basic milk frother and instant grounds to make rich iced coffee has inspired me to make countless cups to enjoy this year. In her video, Frankel briefly explained how to operate the 15-bar espresso machine while making a drink topped with frothed milk. The frothy topping is created using a pressure-adjustable steam tube on the side of the machine, which she calls its “best feature.” The Hamilton Beach Espresso Machine comes with a scoop, tamping tool, and two stainless steel filters — one for a single shot and one for a double shot — that lock into the portafilter handle. Slide and lock the portafilter into the machine, then place one wide cup or two small espresso cups under the spout and press the button. There’s also a removable water tank and a warming tray on top so the coffee doesn’t get cold while you finish with its toppings.

The machine has a retro design that makes it look much more expensive than it is.
