It’s a new beginning for Vanderpump Rules.
On Tuesday, November 26, Bravo announced VPR has been renewed for Season 12 — but the upcoming season will look different than years past. According to a press release, the new cast will take over Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood ventures as servers, hosts and bartenders at SUR and TomTom.
“The last 12 years of filming have been an amazing time full of laughs, tears and everything in between,” Vanderpump, 64, said in the post. “I can’t thank enough those who shared their lives. How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation Vanderpump Rules.”
Alex Baskin, executive producer of the series’ production company 32 Flavors, wrote: “What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again. With deep respect for the original group and their iconic performance, we can’t wait for audiences to see a dynamic new group of collaborators and friends make their way through life together.”

It’s unclear when the new cast or premiere date will be announced, but PEOPLE has learned that the former VPR stars Lala Kent, Scheana Shay and Tom Schwartz will appear on valley, which follows Brittany Cartwright, Jax Taylor and Kristen Doute — among others — who started on VPR.

VPR first premiered on Bravo in 2013, starring Doute, Shay, Taylor, Schwartz, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Stassi Schroeder, Peter Madrigal, Mike Shay, Laura-Leigh, Frank Herlihy and Ariana Madix. Over the years cast members have come and gone, with others such as Cartwright, Kent and Rachel Leviss starring in the series.
Fans began speculating that the series was canceled when filming for Season 12 was delayed over the summer, but PEOPLE confirmed that Bravo still plans to bring the series back at that time.
Seasons 10 and 11 also saw an altered filming schedule following the shocking news that cast members Leviss and Sandoval had an affair while Sandoval was involved in a decade-long relationship with Madix.

On May 1, Andy Cohen explained that interruptions are not uncommon in the Bravo world when a big event happens, saying on SiriusXM Andy Cohen live of May that “we did it all the time with Housewives.”
“We’d say, ‘You know what? Let’s put the cameras down for, you know, four or five months and come back to them.’ And they’re going to live life,” Cohen said.
Vanderpump further confirmed with Hey! News that the show won’t go anywhere.
“Vanderpump Rules is on a short break,” the Vanderpump Rules said the namesake. “Let him breathe. I think we’ve been going around in circles a little bit.”

However, the rumors continued to swirl as time went on, with Kent recently adding fuel to the chatter when she revealed she was no longer on speaking terms with most of the cast on the November 19 episode Watch what’s happening live.
“I’ve burned a lot of bridges,” the 34-year-old reality TV star told Cohen, the host.
Cohen then listed several of Kent’s former actors, asking if she had been in contact with any of them. She joked that Sandoval texts her but she doesn’t respond often, she had to block Taylor and she and Madix “don’t talk.”
“She’s killing it and I’m thrilled about it,” she said. “And I mean it!”
Kent added that she had not spoken to Madix (39) or Maloney (37) since VPR season 11 reunion, which aired in May.
