Obituary of Beverly Anderson
Bev was tragically taken from us on June 23rd, leaving us with a deep sense of loss. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and counselor, whose influence on many lives will be deeply appreciated.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 50 years, Ron, her children Stacy (Terry), Travis (Rachel) and David (Kellie), as well as her grandchildren Morgan, James, Adam and Ira. She was dearly loved by her brothers Gary (Joanne), Roger (Rita), Randy (Dawn) and her sister Bronwynn.
Bev had a lively spirit, able to light up any room with her infectious laugh and beaming smile. She possessed an unwavering enthusiasm for sharing her passions and embracing the joys of life. She embodied the belief that there are no strangers, only friends waiting to be made.
As an artist, Bev enjoyed the vibrant colors she used. When she wasn’t tending to her flowers or engrossed in a good book, she found solace in quilting. Her talent has gained recognition through her longtime membership in Silk City Quilters, Needlers and Fabric Friends Quilt Camp.
Every two years, Bev designed a Raffle Quilt for the Lowell Arts Council. She recently devoted herself to sewing and donating 600 quilts for Ukrainian refugee children. Furthermore, she collaborated with fellow quilters to honor military veterans on Beaver Island with Quilts of Valor. Bev often spoke of quilters as some of the most generous, kind-hearted individuals who are always looking to convert others to the world of quilting.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Bev found it essential to devote her time to support and service at the Franciscan Life Process Center. Through her counseling, both professionally and personally, she touched the lives of people from all walks of life and all ages.
Bev and Ron were introduced to the enchanting beauty of Beaver Island about 35 years ago, immediately falling in love with its allure. Bev would excitedly extend an open invitation to anyone and everyone to experience the wonders of the island and enjoy what it has to offer. With a campfire under the starry sky, a chair was always waiting for those who wanted to join them, creating countless fond memories.
Words cannot adequately express the anxiety and sadness we feel after her departure. Bev will be deeply and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. The commemoration will be organized later on the Island of Beavers.
