Beyoncé Recreates Iconic Pamela Anderson Looks While Honoring Star in New 'Bodyguard' Music Video: 'Beywatch'

Beyoncé has a treat for fans this Election Day.

The Grammy-winning singer released the music video for ‘Bodyguard’ on Tuesday, November 5, using the visual — her first Cowboy Carter album — not only as a chance to dress up as the legendary Pamela Anderson for Halloween (or Beylloween, as she calls it), but also as a chance to remind viewers to vote.

Sharing the video on social media, the 43-year-old star included the messages in both the hashtag and one setting for the clip, in which the words are written on a flag that comes out of a toy gun.

Late last month, Beyoncé officially endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election, giving a powerful speech in her hometown of Houston, Texas during Harris’ campaign. That move Bey allowed Harris to use Cowboy Carter the song “Freedom” in promotional videos and as the theme song at events, including the Democratic National Convention.

But the “Bodyguard” visual was more about voting. The video truly paid tribute to Anderson, with Beyoncé recreating three of the actress’ memorable looks, incl that the iconic red bathing suit worn by Anderson’s Baywatch character, lifeguard CJ Parker.

Of course, the Destiny’s Child singer’s outfit read “Beywatch” — a pun she also used as the name of her YouTube upload.

Although it’s been nearly 30 years since Anderson wore her iconic one-piece suit on the set of the hit ’90s show, Anderson said she still has one of the suits and slips it into a maillot from time to time. “I put it on every now and then – it still fits me,” she said ET Canada in February 2023.

Other looks included Bey’s take on Anderson’s character Barbed wire. Dressed in a tight-fitting leather corset with a plunging neckline and black opera gloves, she appeared to recreate the look Anderson wore on barbed wire premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1995.

And then there was the eye-catching ensemble Anderson wore to the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. Featuring a white corset top and sequined trousers, the outfit is best known for the large feathered pink hat, which instantly became one of the most recognizable fashion accessories.

The hat was made by Ivy Supersonic and commissioned by Anderson herself. As the story goes, the designer previously worked with Anderson’s partner Tommy Lee, who resurfaced, and when Anderson saw Supersonic’s hat working in Mötley Crüe’s “Get Naked” video, she reached out for it.

“She came up to me and said, ‘Hey, I did [presenting at] the [VMAs] next week. Can you make me a pink cowboy hat with feathers?'” Supersonic recalled The Hollywood Reporter in February 2022. “I made her this pink feathered — I can’t really call it a cowboy hat — it was just an Ivy Supersonic hat with feathers. It was really big and pink and fluffy. I thought she’d like it, and I hoped if he wants.”

Also on Tuesday, Beyoncé took to Instagram to share a series of professional photos of herself wearing her Anderson dress.

“LOVE 🤍”, commented Anderson (57).

The images were also full of Easter eggs for Beyoncé fans, including calling the Video Music Awards “No Visual Awards” — a nod to the fact that the BeyHive has been waiting a long time for music videos Cowboy Carter and Beyoncé’s previous album, renaissance.

No visuals?!!! I’m crying,” one fan teased him in the comments season. “He’s just playing in our faces 😂.”
