Hailey and Justin Bieber were mostly secretive about their journey to parenthood – until announcing they were pregnant in May 2024.

The “Love Yourself” singer and the model tied the knot in September 2018 after dating on and off for about two years. Since then, Internet sleuths have suspected at various points in their marriage that Hailey might be expecting a child, which she has denied each time, explaining that she preferred to keep the news to herself when it happened.

In October 2023, Hailey said GQ Hype that while she wants to be private about when she gets pregnant, motherhood is “something I’m looking forward to.”

On May 9, 2024, Justin and Hailey put the rumors to bed when they announced they were expecting their first child together in a carousel of photos from their vow renewal in Hawaii. A source told PEOPLE that the day they found out was “the best day for them,” and Hailey was already 6 months pregnant.

The couple already has a name picked out, the source added, and couldn’t be more excited.
