Bill Rancic Reveals How He and Giuliana Keep Their 20-Year Romance Strong Even Through Unexpected Challenges (Exclusive)

It’s been almost two decades since Bill and Giuliana Rancic first met and fell in love after Giuliana interviewed then-Disciple winner for E! News from 2004.

By 2006, the couple was engaged, and a year later they exchanged vows in Capri, Italy. And although they’ve faced many ups and downs in their lives, including battling fertility issues and Giuliana’s 2011 breast cancer diagnosis, the couple, parents to son Duke, 11, are happier than ever

Their secret? “We love each other,” says Bill, 53, simply about how they’ve maintained such a long Hollywood relationship. “That’s obviously important! And we’re flexible and we make compromises.”

But real secret?

“We love spending time together,” he says of Giuliana, 49. “And we laugh a lot. We went out for an early dinner the other night and my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. So we have a lot of fun together.”

In the past decade, the couple has become a successful restaurateur together. In 2011, they opened RPM Italian in Chicago, and later its sister restaurants RPM Steak and RPM Italian in Washington, D.C. Now, Bill says the brand just keeps growing.

“We opened nine restaurants,” says Bill. “Hopefully West Palm Beach and Nashville will open soon. We’re working in those locations now. It started as what I thought was a bad idea 12 years ago, and it just took off. People embraced it and fell in love with concept.”

“They don’t teach you that in school,” he says of why he felt it was important to start a show about personal money and finance.

“It will be a learning process for me too, because I am by no means a financial planner or an investment broker,” he continues. “So I get great guests, I hear their financial stories, their secrets to success, but we also talk about failures because I think you can learn a lot by learning from other people’s mistakes.”

He adds: “I think it will be a good time. You will be able to spend time with us and you will leave with things that will improve your life.”
