Billie Eilish Signs Melissa McCarthy’s Face (with a Sharpie!) as SAG Presenters Uncover Surprise Family Link

Melissa McCarthy was delighted – and autographed – on stage at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards thanks to Billie Eilish.

The pair presented the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series – which she walked away with Bear’with Ayo Edebiri — but before they got to the nominees, McCarthy, 53, got to worship Eilish, 22.

After reminding the singer that they had met “thrice” before – and Eilish had even met her “daughters and one of my dogs” – McCarthy shared a surprising “fun fact”.

“Since you’re already asking, I actually met you in the womb because your mom was my first improv teacher. And guess who she was pregnant with? It was you!” Little Mermaid star discovered.

“Wow, okay… that’s a lot,” Eilish replied.

McCarthy then continued the adoration as she asked the singer to sign her metallic dress. “I’m just trying to be more present in making memories and trying to YOLO-ing more and FOMO-ing less,” she said before asking Eilish, who said she didn’t want to “ruin” the look.

“Will you sign my face?” McCarthy suggested instead.

Eilish then grabbed a black Sharpie from the actress’ hand and began writing her name on McCarthy’s forehead, along with a small heart. She also took the opportunity to cover McCarthy’s mouth with her hand after the star began questioning her and her brother Finneas’ songwriting process.

“So when you and Finneas play sick songs or hot, hot beats…” McCarthy started to ask before Eilish covered her mouth.

“I think it’s better that way,” Eilish said of McCarthy’s enforced silence, before laughing to herself at the hilarious scene that unfolded.

McCarthy previously shared that Eilish’s mother, Maggie Baird, was her improv teacher. On Watch what’s happening live In 2022, the actress enthusiastically declared that Baird was “a great teacher.”

She praised Eilish and her brother Finneas, 26, as “insanely talented” and “creative” before admitting it took her a minute to work out who the “Bad Guy” singer was compared to her former improv teacher.

“I met them again in Ellen show and I saw her and I was like, ‘Oh my God! Maggie! What are you doing here?’ She said, ‘My daughter’s on the show,'” McCarthy recalled. “And then all of a sudden, Billie Eilish came on, and I was like, ‘Ha! It is funny. They have two music shows because Maggie’s daughter is also doing something.’ ”
