Billie Lourd Reveals Her Son’s Hilarious Response to Seeing Her Photos from the 2024 Oscars Red Carpet

Billie Lourd’s son had some thoughts on her Oscars look.

On Monday, the 31-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a few photos from her night out at the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty.

Lourd shared one close-up photo, posing with arms outstretched in a black dress with her shoulders down. She also included a few pictures from the red carpet where she posed with her husband Austen Rydell.

“✨🤷🏻‍♀️✨”I don’t like them” – my son when I showed him these pictures,” the actress hilariously captioned her post.

Lourd shares a son Kingston (3) and a daughter Jackson Joanne (15 months) with his wife Rydella.

Last spring, the star commented that she showed her late mother Carrie Fisher’s work to her children while honoring her mother at Fisher’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. “I can’t wait to bring my kids here when they’re old enough to see how cool it is,” she said.

“I feel so lucky that even though he won’t meet my mom, he will get to know a piece of her through Leia,” she continued. “And I’ll tell them that the little lady on the TV is my mom, their grandma. Leia has become a family heirloom, and not just for my family.”

Last winter, Lourd spoke openly about her difficulty balancing her grief for her mother and the joy of being a mom herself.

“✨❤️✨It’s been 6 years since my mom died (feels like 2 but also like 705 at the same time?). And unlike most other years since she died, this year, these last two weeks have been one among the most difficult joys of my life,” Lourd wrote.

“Giving birth to my daughter and watching my son meet her are two of the most magical moments I’ve ever experienced. But with the magic of life usually comes the reality of grief,” she continued. “My mom isn’t here to meet any of them and she isn’t here to experience any magic.”

“That’s the thing with grief. I wish my mom was here, but she’s not,” Lourd said. “So all I can do is hold on to magic tighter, hug my kids a little tighter. Tell them her story. Share her favorite things with them. Tell them how much she would love them.”
