Billy Baldwin ‘Absolutely Loves’ and ‘Completely Supports’ Wife Chynna Phillips Despite Their Different Stances on Faith

Billy Baldwin supports his wife Chyna Phillips’ devotion to Christianity even though they both agree it has affected their marriage.

Earlier this month, singer Wilson Phillips, 55, posted a video on her YouTube channel in which she was joined by her husband, 60.

Their conversation, titled “We had a rough talk between hearts,” was posted on Phillip’s California Preachin‘, where she describes herself as a “Jesus influencer”.

In the video, Baldwin said that despite recent headlines about his wife’s faith causing a “rift” in their relationship, the two are still going strong.

Both Baldwin and Phillips admitted that they had gone through a six-month separation, with Phillips calling it “absolutely untrue” that they were in a “bad relationship.” Baldwin agreed, saying they “worked it out.”

In the video, Phillips admitted that since committing her life to Christ, she can say that she and her husband are not always on the same page.

“Sometimes it can cause cracks and small chasms in our relationship, and we try our best to overcome those differences,” Phillips said. “The Christian aspect was a conspicuous problem for a while because [religion] it kind of overtook my life in so many ways. It might even make you wonder if you and I can really make it in the long run.”

“He would never divorce me, but could we stay truly happy and connected and progress with me on this path—this path of Jesus?” asked the wife.

Baldwin responded by claiming that Phillips had a “fantasy” that the two were following in the footsteps of Jim and Tammy Faye [Bakker] — American televangelists who spent time in prison after sexual and financial scandals related to their ministry.

Before he could continue with his theory, Phillips interjected, “Okay, that’s the story you told yourself.”

Baldwin then admitted that they are at different places in their faith, and that she is further away from him.

“It hasn’t become the partnership you longed for or hoped for,” he told his wife. “But I still absolutely love you, I absolutely adore you and I totally support you. That’s why I’m sitting here right now. That’s why we go to church together. That’s why we pray together. That’s why we talk about faith together. That’s why I do these things for you… That’s why that I am a supportive, loving husband who adores his wife and wants to spend the rest of his life with you, no doubt.”

“I just want you to start your journey, your journey of faith,” Phillips replied.

The 25-minute video ended with the couple praying with each other and explaining that they are excited to do more together as empty nesters now that their three children have moved out of the house.
