Bodies of Missing Pregnant Teen and Boyfriend Believed Found in San Antonio Car

Two bodies found in a car in San Antonio, Texas, are believed to be those of a missing pregnant teenager and her boyfriend, police said Tuesday.

Speaking to the media Tuesday night, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus described the discovery as a “very confusing crime scene.” “There are two people in the car … They are dead,” McManus added, before confirming that authorities believe the bodies belong to Savana Nicole Soto, 18, and her boyfriend Matthew Guerra, CBS News reported.

Soto went missing on Friday after she failed to show up for an appointment to induce labor. She was last seen leaving her home in Leon Valley on Friday around 2 p.m., KENS5 and NBC News reported.

“Detectives are looking at this as a possible homicide right now, but we don’t know for sure,” McManus told reporters, according to NBC News. “Due to the complex crime scene, we can’t say for sure what we have.”

He added that although doctors have not yet officially identified the bodies, authorities “believe the two people are the woman who went missing and her boyfriend.”

McManus also confirmed that the bodies were found in a Kia Optima owned by Sota’s boyfriend and that they may have been in the vehicle for four days.

“She had everything ready for her baby boy,” she added of her daughter, who was due before she disappeared.

“I pray to God every day, every minute, every second of the day we pray to God to bring her home, to bring her home safely because we need her home, to make our family whole again,” Soto’s grandmother Rachel Soto told KENS5.
