Boria Majumdar was born on Monday, March 8, 1976, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India (age 46; as of 2022). Boria Majumdar completed her schooling from Frank Antony Public School, Kolkata. In 1997, he received his BA in History from Presidency College, University of Calcutta. In 1999, Boria completed his graduate studies in modern history at the same university. In 2000, he won a scholarship through the Rhodes Scholars and was subsequently admitted to St. John’s College, Oxford University. In 2004, he received a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in the social history of Indian cricket.

In the same year, his paper was also published in India. After completing his PhD, Boria spent some time as a visiting professor at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Since 2003, Boria Majumdar has been a lecturer at the University of Chicago, USA.
