The couple also unfollowed each other on social media.
Keith, 49, is said to be deeply affected by the situation as they try to remain “civil” for the sake of their children.
A source added to the Mirror: “It was a shock for everyone.
“Back in July they looked happier than ever as they celebrated 25 years together on the trip of a lifetime on the French Riviera.”
The source added that the couple wants to “keep the divorce civil.”
Keith and Lisa, a fashion stylist, share a son, Jay (27), and a daughter, Mia (23).
The Sun has contacted a representative for Keith for comment.
Keith married Lisa in Las Vegas in 1998.
Bandmate Ronan Keating was best man.
One of the biggest pop bands of the 1990s, Boyzone was formed in 1993 by Louis Walsh and also consists of Ronan, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch.
Their hits include: Picture of You, Words, Baby Can I Hold You Tonight, plus a 1999 cover of When the Going Gets Tough for Comic Relief.
Initially, Mikey was not selected for the band after an audition, but was later recast after the first choice, Richard Rock left the band due to “creative differences”.
The band initially focused on their own take on classic songs and broke into the UK with their second single, Love Me For A Reason, in 1994.
During their time in the charts, they achieved eighteen top ten hits on the Official UK Chart with six UK hit singles – making them the second biggest boy band after Take That.
Their biggest hits include: Picture of You, Words, Baby Can I Hold You Tonight, plus a cover of When the Going Gets Tough for Comic Relief in 1999.
Boyzone’s biggest hit was No Matter What released in 1999, which sold three million copies worldwide, even breaking into the Top 40 in America.
After officially splitting in 2000, the group often reunited for major fan tours – including 2009’s Back Again…No Matter What tour – the last time they performed as a five-piece before the tragic death of Stephen Gately.
The band also reunited in 2013 to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a tour and new releases.
Keith turned to acting after Boyzone initially split and joined Coronation Street as bartender Ciaran McCarthy.
He played the role between 2002 and 2005 before returning for another stint in 2010 to 2011.
Keith also got the role of John the security guard in the movie Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie from 2014.
His other television work includes episodes of the murder mystery series Death in Paradise and the short-lived sitcom Fair City.
In addition, he has appeared in some reality shows, including Celebrity Big Brother and Splash, and game shows, including The Magicians and The Celebrity Chase.
Keith also sings with Boyzlife and recently had a scare when he fell while taking part in the Mount Kenya Challenge to raise money for children with autism.
Dad-of-two Keith, who admitted he “already has bad knees”, said he hopes to stay fit for any comeback from his old band Boyzone.
