The Mini Cooper is said to have “accelerated” and rammed into the back of about 1,500 Verdi demonstrants – the German union based in Berlin – at Seidlstrasse in Munich.

Minister of Bavaria, Markus Söder, marked the shocking incident “suspicious attack”.

And the State Minister of Justice, Georg Eisenreich, said he was a prosecutorial department that explores extremism and terror studies a scary case.

It is not thought to be linked to a safety conference in Munich, which starts this weekend.

Police said the suspect is a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker who, added to the Minister of the Interior of the Region, was known to police officers regarding drug and theft incidents.

Spiegel website says the suspect is born in Kabul by the name of Farhad N.

It is said to have published Islamist content on social media before the terrible incident.

Farhad n arrived in Germany as an asylum seeker in December 2016 and refused an application for asylum.

He was later approved by what is called tolerance permission, which means that his deportation was suspended, the website claims.

Unconfirmed reports of eyewitnesses in an incident in horror claim that two men are involved in a plow, and one of them has shot and taken away, Br24 states.

Munich police officers reiterated that the driver was arrested, but said they were unable to confirm the reports that the other person had been involved.

Emotional images show shoes, umbrellas and bags dropped to the floor after the victims have probably run for their lives.

Another painful picture shows a demolished wheelchair on the ground.

One eyewitness at the scene said the mini hit a woman and a child, explaining that they were “obviously lying under the car.”

The demonstrator said Bayerischer Rundfunk: “I was in a demonstration and saw that the man lay under the car.

“Then I tried to open the door, but it was locked.”

They claimed the police were shooting at the car window.

The front part of the mini seems to be completely broken – suggesting that the driver traveled at speed before entering the demonstrators.

The Munich police officers initially said on the X: “The vehicle came into a group of people at the scene. Several people were injured.

“We have a great force on the spot.

“The driver was able to secure on the spot and currently do not pose a further danger.”

On Thursday, some city employees were striking to demonstrate eight percent of the salary increase, as well as larger bonuses and three additional days off.

Public organizations such as those operating sports centers, hospitals, kindergartens and street cleaners participated in strike action.

Munich management director Verdi Claudia Weber, who waited for the group to go to Königsplatz, a seven -minute walk from where the incident happened, spoke on behalf of Verdi.

“We heard the car intentionally entered a straight demonstration.

“I hope there will be no death.”

The incident comes after the country recorded a wave of recent attacks.

Three weeks ago, a two -year -old boy and a man were killed in a sting in Aschaffenburg, also in Bavaria.

This attack is thought to have been performed by another Afghan asylum seeker whose application for stay in the country was rejected.

In December 2024, six people were killed and over 200 injured when a car ran into a crowded Christmas market in Magdeburg, which launched the extremely right protest.

On Thursday while the Munich incident took place, the Afghan man named Sulaiman and judged Stuttgart for attacking the knife on May 31, 2024 in Mannheim.

The suspect with suspicious jihadist motifs was charged with launching an attack that killed a police officer and injured five others in an anti -Islamic gathering.

Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder used this latest incident and wave of other attacks to call for changes in the country.

The 58-year-old said, “It is suspected that it was an attack.

“The attack shows that something has to change in Germany – and fast!

“An event in Aschaffenburg in January, and now in Munich … That’s simply enough.”

It comes as a German approach to Asylum seekers, and security faces great surveillance because questions become head before the national elections on February 2nd.
