Brad Falchuk Says He’d ‘Never Say No’ to a Glee Remake but It’d Have to Return in a ‘More Modern Way’

Brad Falchuk does not rule out a joy remake.

The TV producer, 52, who co-created the show with Ryan Murphy, admitted he would “never say no” to returning to the series.

“I’m sure everything is always on the table, but is there a way to tell that story in a more modern way?” He said The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview published Wednesday.

“So many things joy it was actually about transitioning from an old way of looking at presenting to a new way,” he continued to the exit. “I would never say no, but I wonder what the point would be – other than to make money.”

Falchuk also talked about what he learned working on the musical comedy, which ran from 2009 to 2015, and the ups and downs of working on the show.

“None of us were prepared for that level of success. I was younger, it was a bit overwhelming and a lot of us got caught up in our egos,” he explained to THR. “There was a feeling of scarcity. We wrote about high school, so it’s very hard not to go back a little. It was a pot. At the same time, we had a lot of fun and everyone got along so well. Things went to hell, and then everyone agreed again. It was chaotic.”

“I would never want to go back there, and then I’ll think, ‘God, I’d love to go back there,'” he continued. “But the biggest learning from that show? Take the ego out of everything and be an adult.”

In addition to the huge success he brought to the Fox series, Falchuk has his series to thank for his love story with current wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

Falchuk first met Paltrow, 51, in 2010 when she appeared on the show as substitute teacher Holly Holliday. The Oscar winner starred in five episodes of the series.

Falchuk talked about their initial relationship Harper’s Bazaar 2020, “She’s stunning and charming and completely disarming. We had enough similar backgrounds — a little Jewish, a little East Coast, her father was a TV producer — that we kind of developed this really beautiful friendship.”
