Brigitte Nielsen on Ex-Husband Sylvester Stallone: ‘I Have No Idea What That Guy Is Up To’ (Exclusive)

Brigitte Nielsen has no interest in living in the past.

In fact, the 60-year-old actress, who gave birth to her fifth child, daughter Frida, in 2018, is now so happy with her life that she says her former relationships and marriages are just a distant memory – if that.

“[My marriage] Sylvester Stallone was so long ago,” she told PEOPLE exclusively in this week’s issue. “I never think about him. Sometimes it feels like it never happened.”

She doesn’t mean it as a slight on her ex – she just says that so much has happened since their brief relationship between 1985-1987. that it seems as if another life has passed.

“I have no idea what that guy’s up to. You move on, you know? You’re so busy doing other things that it can be like, ‘Wait, what was so-and-so’s name?'” she says with a laugh, of her past relationships.

Stallone and Nielsen first teamed up while working on films Cobra and Rocky IVand he got involved during the production Rocky IV. They married in 1985 but divorced in 1987. (They later briefly reunited when Nielsen appeared in 2018. Belief — Nielsen described the reunion as “professional”.)

In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, Nielsen talks about her current happy relationship with husband Mattio Dessi, 45, and how happy they are to be parents to daughter Frida, 5.

“I waited a long time for Frida,” Nielsen says, noting that she tried to get pregnant through IVF for 13 years before it finally happened.

Although she says she has found her true bliss at home, Nielsen admits she misses acting.

“I totally miss acting,” she says. “I still get a lot of action scripts and actually produce an action film. But I’d love to do something that’s a comedy, something fun and upbeat that’s not on location in Thailand for six months. I don’t know if that exists or would happen to me, but I’m open to all.”

He is also working hard on a one-woman show.

“I saw some things,” she says with a laugh. “But I’m writing something that kind of pokes fun at myself and the situations I’ve gotten myself into. Something that’s really uplifting and educational at the same time.”
