Bruce Willis’ Wife Emma Heming Willis Shares Sweet Photo of Their Extended Family Celebrating Thanksgiving

Bruce Willis has his family by his side this Thanksgiving.

On Thursday, the actor’s wife Emma Heming Willis shared a sweet photo on Instagram of her and Bruce (68) celebrating the holiday with their children Mabel (11) and Evelyn (9).

Bruce’s other daughters Rumer Willis (35), Scout Willis (32) and Tallulah Willis (29) can also be seen in the video, along with his ex-wife Demi Moore (61).

Rumer’s boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas and Tallulah’s partner Jake Miller were also caught in the family photo.

“I’m thankful to know this kind of love 🤍🧡,” Emma, 47, captioned the post. “Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🧡.”

The Willis family’s Thanksgiving gathering comes about two months after Emma said it became “hard to know” if Bruce was aware of his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis, which his family first announced back in February.

The Willis family previously announced that he had been diagnosed with aphasia and would retire from acting in March 2022. (The FTD diagnosis came as the family discovered Bruce’s condition had progressed.)

“What I’m learning is that dementia is hard,” Emma told the Today show in September. “It’s hard on the person diagnosed. It’s also hard on the family. And it’s no different for Bruce, for me, for our girls. When they say it’s a family disease, it’s real.”

Earlier this month, Emma wrote an op-ed for Maria Shriver’s Sunday paper, in which she said that “[struggles] with guilt, knowing that I have resources that others don’t have,” in caring for Bruce, whom she married in 2009.

“With a certain diagnosis, you have the opportunity to find community,” she wrote in the article. “You can immediately connect with people who understand your story. You don’t even have to explain yourself. The people I’ve met and interviewed in the FTD community have so much compassion and are so determined to make things better for the next family.”

Frontotemporal dementia is a comprehensive term for a group of brain disorders that threaten, as the name suggests, the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

This means that parts of these lobes atrophy, and shrinking of these areas can cause speech problems, emotional problems and personality changes. Other symptoms may include loss of motor skills including trouble walking, swallowing, or muscle spasms.

Earlier this year, Emma celebrated her 45th birthday and took to Instagram to share photos of her and her husband snuggled together.

“His love is like the warmest coziest blanket. Once you wrap yourself in it, you never want to leave,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Additionally, Emma shared a video on Instagram on Sunday in which she is seen wearing a birthday hat and blowing out candles on a cake.

“So many candles on this bad boy it could have brought our house down! Regardless, what a beautiful day it was,” she captioned the post.
