His sister Courtney George said she is desperate for information because he usually doesn’t go 48 hours without talking to her.

A father from Belfast was reported missing after he failed to catch his flight to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

John was reportedly on holiday with friends in Alicante until he left to meet up with friends in Benidorm.

His sister said her unemployed father had not heard from her for nine days.

Courtney revealed that his two young sons, ages 13 and 6, have been begging Santa to bring their dad home for the holidays.

The pharmacist said that “all his children want for Christmas is for him to come home”.

Courtney revealed the news that she plans to welcome John home for Christmas, but the family is now full of worries.

She said: “I have to have Christmas for my own children, but I would love to light my tree and escape this nightmare.”

She added: “I didn’t eat for five days and I was physically sick because it had been nine days without contact.”

Courtney also explained why the father-of-two traveled to Spain in the first place.

She added: “We recently lost a family member and he was very upset and thought he needed a break.

“His youngest is very confused, and the 13-year-old saw everything on social media and is very shaken.

“They love their dad.”

Courtney explained that the family wants to send a search to Alicante and Benidorm to look for John, the sister explained on the GoFundMe page she set up.

She added: “It’s family time, so no one will look for our family when they want to spend it with theirs.

“It’s very urgent because places are closing and people are going on vacation.”

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed it had received a report of the 37-year-old’s disappearance and said it was investigating.

Mum-of-two Courtney’s GoFundMe page has raised over £9,500.
